Woohoo, I got into grad school!

I mentioned in an earlier thread on software engineering that I had applied to a program leading to an MS in the subject. Well yesterday I got the word that I got in. It’s at CSU Fullerton and all online, or almost all online, so I can do it while comfortably ensconced up here in L.A. It’ll take two years to do and is so organized that you take two classes at a time and stay with the same cohort all the way through.

I wasn’t happy with my GRE writing score–but they let me in.

Given my age I could only find two former professors as referents who were not dead or who hadn’t disappeared–but they let me in.

So I have a few more months of guitar playing in the morning and reading at lunchtime*, and then I start in.

*also whatever other leisure activities I was doing at any time of day, most likely.

Congratulations.

Yay! Congrats!

Huge congrats - but don’t give up the gee-tar! You need something to keep you sane during Finals week!

Redbull and cigarettes seem to do the trick for me.
Oh, you said sane, not awake. In that case, booze.

Congrats, Spectre!

As a current grad student flopping around for a thesis to finish my MSCS, let me offer my heartfelt condolences

Seriously, it’s a wonderful investment, and congratulations on getting accepted and continuing your education!!

Thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement. It’s past time I did this; I think I was waiting for online availability.

As much as for career advancement I’m doing it for my own personal satisfaction.

Congratulations!

Guitar plus computers, it just don’t matter as to the reasons. It = cool.

Congrats!
\P.S. One bit of advice…give it a few courses, but start thinking about your thesis topic soon.
