Word 97 Question.

Hiya all…

I want to make a particular font the default font in Word 97. I dislike “Times New Roman” intensely and prefer to use “Bookman Old Style”

How do I go about changing the default font in Word 97?
Thanks in advance

Sorry. I should have said what Operating system I am using.

XP Pro.

On mine (newest version of Word), you go to Format then Font and select the font you want. Then click on the button labelled “default” at the bottom, and hit “yes.”

I think this’ll do the trick. Go to the directory under which Word 97 is installed and find the Normal.dot template (likely in a subdirectory called “Templates”). Open it and change the font to what you want and save it. Make sure it’s saved as a template (.dot), and don’t ‘Save as…’ just ‘Save.’ This just worked for me in Word 97.

Good luck.

heh… It would be that simple, wouldn’t it. :smack:
