I feel lucky to have gotten it in three today.

Not my best today, but as I always say when it takes me 6 tries…at least I didn’t fail.
Wordle 330 4/6
PIOUS
MIGHT
LIVID
YIELD
I thought of YIELD before either FIELD or WIELD, luckily.
This was my first use of PIOUS to start (got that from someone here). It worked out okay today, but in general I prefer checking out R, S and T (or at least two of them) first. So I may revise my ‘starters’ list.
Wordle 330 3/6
HEART
FLIED
YIELD
Not today’s answer (330) but close enough not to look if you haven’t done it yet:
FLIED? Please tell me that’s not an accepted alternate spelling of FLEW. *googles* Phew! It is past tense, but of a different root word with the same spelling. A fly ball in baseball. It’s the past tense of its verb form. “He flied out to left” or whatever.
Wordle 330 6/6
Down to the wire on this one. For my fourth guess I get desperate and, like usual, I go for remaining-letter coverage. This time it still left me with at least 3 common words (YIELD, WIELD, FIELD) despite getting 4 of the 5 pretty secure. Then I was able to find a word with all of them in it to be able to find out which one it was:
STAKE
DREAM
ODEON
CHILD
WIFEY
YIELD
Nice ‘coverage’ word. My first thought was those three letters were tough to get in a single word. But then more broadly, I’m starting to think of this kind of six as a “perfect six.” Hard mode through 4, coverage word at 5 to check the trap letters, solve in 6.
I find using coverage words both fun and interesting. It can happen earlier, but it’s most satisfying when you don’t uncover the trap until after guess 4.
Preventing that kind of play is a mark against hard mode, IMO.
Took me a lot of steps to even advance for tomorrow’s.

Wordle #330
I have had that word in my “start-word list” for a while now, but have put off trying it for the same reason as what you prefer too. I may do so at some point though for fun - sometimes I get tired of the same combination of letters.
Tomorrow’s Wordle, Today

So I completely lost track of this one. For guess three I thought that the D was yellow and the next guess I forgot it entirely. Then I spent several minutes trying to find a word that was xExDE before going back and actually looking at the puzzle. I am not sure if I would have solved it if I was paying attention, though,

I tried my old starting word and that was a huge help. I’ll take the 2!

Anybody try Wordle2? It’s basically the same but with six letter words. I tried two practice games and got one in two and one in four.

Yes, I was surprised when guess 4 went all green.

It’s Monday why not start with a haphazard first word? Thought it’d pay off in two, for sure three - bad choice
