Wordle 437 2/6, making up for that 6 the other day.
SLANT
ONSET
Had the T in position, and there were technically 7 possible locations for the N and S. But only this one yielded a word that I could think of. I really expected there’d be at least one word ending in NST, but tried each of the consonants with all the vowels and came up empty. So I tried that one word, and it came up green.
Unfortunately for me, I DID think of another word:
Wordle 437 3/6
SLANT
INSET
ONSET
After SLANT I ran through possible words ending EST, IST, OST, and UST (words that also contained an N)–no luck. So then I looked for _NS_T and thought of the IN version first. Oh, well.
Me too. I also played Besot for my 3rd word, and was sure that had to be it. The answer word didn’t occur to me for some reason…until I saw it finally. Getting it in 4 is fine with me though, but of course 3 is better .
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of that word before. Glad they skipped it!
After 2 I saw prude first, but then I also saw pride and prune. I would have guessed pride first, but prude was the only one that would positively identify among those three. When that got no extra hits I had to start looking again but then prize was obvious.
CRANE
PIVOT - Information word
Could be PRIDE, PRIME or PRIZE. Chose the order. I want to win a prize (first word), pride is bad (last word), leaving prime as the fourth word
PRIZE
Another tricksie Wordle. I’m quite happy with a 4 today.
Wordle 438 4/6*
IRATE
CRIME
PRIDE
PRIZE
After CRIME, I quickly realized this was another ‘trap’ word. I identified 6 additional words it could be. At least I’d already eliminated PRIME and PRICE. I decided to try PRIDE first, in case the word was DRIVE. Once the ‘P’ was in place, it could only be the PRIZE.
