The dunce cap for me, today: I completely ignored that I had a green R, treating it instead like a yellow R. If not for that dim-bulb move, I could have had a 3 (maybe). Oh, well.

Good start word. I then came up with a list of 6 words (that I could see). Five of them ended in R, and one ended in Y, so I thought it best to check that R placement at the end. I was glad to see it didn’t end in R…the answer was clear from there!
After I played yesterday’s game, I realized it was my 200th game! 
What’s interesting is Wordle is now showing my win percentage at 100%, but I have 1 fail. I also have missed playing 3 games in total, but I don’t think that affects the percentage…just the streak, which I’m now currently at 18 days (my longest is 74 games).

After two guesses, I was down to GRATE, IRATE, PRATE, and TRADE. Aspenglow’s lucky day, perhaps? But GRATE was the first one of the _RATE words that had come to my mind, so I went with that, and the roll of the dice came up my way. A lucky 3.
I’d say 4/6 wasn’t bad - you were definitely in one of those traps. There were also GRAZE and GRAVE that fit your GRA_E start. And in Jabberwocky, if the mome raths outgrabe, is ‘grabe’ a word?

I definitely chose the right test word at three! This was not just luck, but was based on the frequency of letters in the long list of possible answers I came up with. Saved par from what could have been a nasty trap.
