This one was the toughest one yet. I was so stuck trying to think what it could possibly be after the 4th guess.

I was starting to fear I wouldn’t get this one, but I did on try 5. Whew.

I spent a lot of time on the last one. The third guess really left me with a head scratcher with the remaining letters.
They were deliberately tricksy with today’s one, and I appreciate it. Got it on the last try (6th).
Same here. This one was tricky, 6 for me.

Does anyone even use that word except for when talking about Kennedy?

Occasionally I’ll guess a word I know isn’t the solution, just to eliminate more letters from consideration.

Thought I was going to struggle today but in the end I could only think of one possible solution. Luckily that was it.

Wordle 219 2/6*
Second straight day with a “2”–maybe I should buy lottery tickets today?
Wordle 219 3/6*
Tough one! I didn’t get it until I realized that certain consonants can in fact precede an n.
Roger that.
Over, and out.
Same here. The fact that K is an uncommon letter and precedes the common letter N was particularly puzzling with this one.
Wordle 219 4/6*
Tricky, but I realized that the last letter of guess 3 had to be the first letter of guess 4 as it wouldn’t fit anywhere else given the other letters that had been eliminated.

Funnily enough, I figured it out because I realized gnoll would fit, but wouldn’t have worked because a) it’s a fictional creature and probably not on the word list and b) I’d already eliminated G as a choice. Then I spent a few minutes not being able to unsee gnoll before I realized the actual answer was a homophone.
This one almost did me in.
CRIMP → what a start! OK, common letters…
THOSE → Wow. Try some less common letters…
AGONY → for some reason, the first word that came to mind. I really think I’m going down here
FLOWN
OK, now should have enough data - but what’s the word? There’s a U left, but unless it goes after O, no where to put it. NL/LN is exceptionally uncommon, and since the N is in the first two - UNO?? I can’t think of such a word. UNOLD? Naw.
Wait - N can’t be the first letter. So what can go in front of it?
KNOLL
If the Kennedy assassination thread had still been going on, I might have gotten this sooner - same # of guesses, but less time thinking before the fifth word.
Good approach @SunUp . That one almost did me in too.
Wondering what your first word coulda been?
I’m embarrassed tomorrow’s took me so long.
