I think I may at least mostly stop posting in this thread; because I think I might rather do Wordle on my iPad in front of the stove at night and by that time the thread’s very likely to be on the next day’s word, even if I after that come back to the desktop/large screen on which I usually read messageboards.
But thanks for introducing me to it! and I might drop back in once in a while.
When you post your solution path could you please tell us which date & puzzle number it’s for? The puzzle number was included with the color blocks from when you clicked ‘share’.
You can also find the puzzle number on the settings page, in the lower right hand corner in tiny faint text. We want to know the puzzle number and/or what your local date was when you did the puzzle so we know when it’s safe to unblur your spoiler.
Makes all the sense. In an 888-post thread, I wasn’t going to review it in total to see where the tradition of sharing originated or what the attendant rules are. Thanks for getting me up to date.
ETA: I will abuse my mod privileges and update my post to include the information.
I meant to add: every puzzle comes with a unique identifier, which automatically links when you copy your results; you could solve one of these hello wordl puzzles, share the code, and other people can try the same one.
After my 2nd guess I could see my score today would come down to luck; I came up with at least 4 regular words that could fit and none of them shared untested letters.
On the first line when the word is restorative, they told me “T” wasn’t in the final word. But on the second line, with “elephantine,” it says a “T” is in the final word. Unless I’m missing something! The final word was ANISOTROPIC. I’d never heard of it. I won’t be trying eleven letters again!
Interesting. There’s been talk about many other related games but I never tried them. I tried this one and thought I’d go for 8 letters.
It took me 2-3 minutes to try my first word, METHANOL.
I thought hey, pretty good, I got 5 letters! And after about 5 minutes I was hating myself for starting this. I struggled for maybe 20 minutes before trying my second word:
SPURIOUS
I struggled for another 20 minutes and said screw it, I give up, I need to get back to work.
I’m glad I did because the word was DUODENAL. I seriously doubt I would’ve gotten that.
If I understand it correctly. The first “T” in the first word is given “correct letter, wrong place”, but the second “T” is given “not in the word” because there is only one “T”.
