It felt a bit of a bold move on the third word but I knew there was an ‘A’ in at least one of those positions and I would be in a strong position for the next try if I was wrong.

I knew EGADS wasn’t right, but none of the remaining consonants formed a word with EAD, so I figured there had to be a double vowel and by using this word I was able to determine it wasn’t the E.
Very happy this morning. That initial correct letter cut down my options to perhaps two or three.

Wordle 258 5/6
I really do have a mental block with words starting with a vowel - it’s just so much harder for me to think of think. I wonder if it’s a common affliction?

Wordle 258 5/6*
I stared at this one for way longer than I care to admit.
I don’t know if it’s common, but it affects me as well. And in this case it was ALSO a doubled letter, which compounded the issue.
Got a birdie. Starter word was last word I saw in a Youtube comments section.

Sheesh. The double letter gets me again! Well, that… and I wasted a try with WHEAT. I already knew the word didn’t contain a ‘T’. Derp.

MOURN → Two vowels plus R & N out. What’s next?
STALE → Have two vowels but no consonants. Shuffle the vowels a bit, perhaps I have a past tense verb…
PAWED → Think think think…
AHEAD
There was about two hours between my third and fourth guesses. With L, N and R out, the fourth letter pretty much had to be a vowel, but it wasn’t E, so A? or a missing I? It took me a while to think about the H, and then I didn’t know if I should try a letter with two A’s, but it worked out.
Wordle 258
My results weren’t particularly interesting, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggled. I thought the word was going to be a lot more obscure than what it ended up being.
