SNAKY → OK, not bad, but I can’t see any consonants for the start letter. ONION? Needs more variety this early. UNDUE? Ditto. ENDOW? Maybe. Or perhaps
INEPT → Which turns out to be fairly ept. Now maybe try a double letter?
INNER → Placed the E, but that wasn’t it. I played around with words and tried one I didn’t think would be on the list
INCEL → Should have waited to hit enter, because then the solution came to me

My last three guesses could be the name of a psychological tool for finding latent sexually frustrated young men. At least, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Not too many words start with an ‘I’ and knowing that narrowed the possibilities considerably. I thought of IMPEL but that one had already been used. Fortunately, I didn’t think of or try any of the other 5 words it could have been. (I was surprised to learn INCEL is a sanctioned Wordle word, though. Good to know.)

Thankfully unfed has already been an answer, forcing me to keep looking until I found index. I was aided by the placeholder X I use for spaces, having typed in XNXEX to see if anything matched the pattern.

ROAST → Four vowels down. Only U and Y left. Can I guess both with one, and the consonants I already know?
USURY → Yes. Still have H & L to guess. But, I’m seeing one word without either first, and it matches so well I’ll just have to try it
