This one took me far to long to think of and I had just read about the SAG-AFTRA strike deal.

Reminds me of last fall when I had a hard time coming up with INTER (Wordle #442) right after dealing with my mother’s burial arrangements.

LEASH → Hmm, not much there. Normally I’d go TRAIN here but the A is right in the middle, so no help placing it. I’ll use an O and dial back the third consonant to make
GROAN → R is nice. Where does that A go? Still haven’t tried the T, but I’m seeing one that scrambles the three known letters around in the middle, so try
CAROM → Oh, darn. A at the start, so it must be
ACTOR
If I had thought about starting with A on my third guess, I might have seen the answer. Still, 4 is nice after the last couple days.

AROSE
ABHOR
ACTOR
Good opener - narrowed it down to ACTOR, AORTA, APRON, and ABHOR. ACTOR was the only one I didn’t see. I remembered AORTA has been used, and I was pretty sure APRON had as well (I was right), so I felt quite confident I had a two.
Always happy with a three, though it took me an embarrassingly long time to finally see ACTOR.

SLANT
MEANT
After my starting word, there were really only 4 possibilities: CHANT, GIANT, GRANT, and MEANT. The first two had already been played, and the last one seemed like a very Wordly word, so I went with it over Grant.
(Saw QUANT as well, didn’t think it was a real word in and of itself.)
