Definitely a hard one for me, had to stare at the leftover letters for quite a while to find a fitting word…

I was so dang pleased with myself for coming up with ‘mauvy’ after getting so little bang for my buck with the first two that I missed the whole point until after 5/6; but, as luck would have it, I don’t see anything other than ‘kayak’ that I could’ve then played for 6/6.

The solution was the only word I could think of for my fourth guess. Scoredle says that words like yabba (dabba doo!), gyoza, etc. were also available. Yowza!
At any rate, happy to escape with a 4. I certainly wasn’t going to do any better with this one.

IRATE

KAYAK
CLOAK is a favorite second word for me if I hit only an ‘A’ in 3rd position after IRATE. When I learned the word was an —AK word, the answer immediately sprang to mind. There just aren’t that many (any?) of them. In fact WordleBot advised it was the only choice left. Fortunately, I didn’t dither today, trying a million other letter combinations before KAYAK. For a change!
PLATE → Not a bad start. Think I’ll go consonant-hunting…
HARSH → Whiff! But placed the A. Could it be two As, MADAM? Feel like I should try to cover some more consonants here…
MAYAN → No, dangit, it was…
KAYAK
I actually saw the answer after two because I’ve been watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix, and that’s one of the palindromes she mentions when she says her name. Should have had the guts to try it.

“A the only vowel” led to PAGAN, and after that there weren’t many options, what with all the eliminated letters.
Possibly all those commercials helped bring the word to mind, too.

This is an example of where looking at the previous word list might have helped. If I wasn’t too lazy to go through all the combinations I might have found a good sleuth word. I do think I narrowed it down to the last option and I did technically play hard mode so I guess that’s something.
