After Cream, I was only seeing three words: Decaf, Decay, and Pecan. Checking one of the D words was the best play…worst I’d get was a 4 if it was Pecan, but I got lucky with choosing the right word for a nice 3.

RISEN → Not for another eight days yet!
I was torn between NOISE and NORSE as my second word. (Neither would have been the solution; Norse is a proper noun, and Noise has already been used. As has Resin, btw.) I went with NOISE, but checking afterwards in Scoredle to see how NORSE would have worked, Scoredle told me it was an invalid guess. I have no idea why; it allows proper nouns as guesses.

Nice quickie for par. It was pretty close to Scoredle’s solve from DECAY, except that they doubled up on a vowel for placement on guess #2.
