HOTEL wasn’t the most savvy guess, given that the bulk of available words contained M and/or D. But I got a bit lucky; had I made the “smart” play and went with MODEL at three, this probably would have ended up a five.
Your word list made think of a story about it and I found it funny.
My starting word has been TOWER as long as I can remember, so as you can imagine I thought today was THE day for me. On the plus side, if I had finally gotten my one I would feel obligated to switch to a new starter and I don’t want to have to do that.
