SALLY → Hmmm. KANYE, but that’s proper. YAHOO, slangy. BAYOU was already an answer (one of the few I remember). But that leads me to
RAYON → So ?AYOR must be
MAYOR

Scoredle only gives 60 possibles after my start word; MAYBE is one I hadn’t thought of (and might have gone for if I had seen it). Getting two consecutive answers, each with a Y, was key to a low score in this one. In any case, it’s a nice day for a birdie.

After my starting word, I came up with only seven possibilities, and four of them (STING, STINK, STONE, STONY) had already been used, leaving STUNG, STUNK, and STENO, the last one having gone obsolete decades ago. Guessed right between the first two.
A good 2.
