I thought I was doing well here! After 2, I had it down to INNER, MINER, NERVY, NEWER, PREEN, RIPEN, and RIVEN; I totally overlooked NERDY. RIPEN at 3 narrowed it down to NERVY, or so I thought. Ouch!

QUITE → I was really hoping for QUIET, though I think it’s been done before. Ah, well. Let’s try a good first word second, shall we?
LEARN → Placing the E is nice, and two consonants gives me much to work with. I’m looking at RE???, and one word just jumped right out at me so I gave it a shot
RENEW → That wasn’t it. If I reverse the N & R, NER??, and I’m enough of a “Weird Al” fan to try

Scoredle puts me to shame by finishing in 3, both from my start and from its own. I did a lot of shooting from the hip on this one, so I’m happy on the whole.
Pretty happy with this, considering how foggy my brain is this morning.
