I was really lucky today - I saw all the -ISHY and -USHY solutions after 2, and DUMPY was a good sleuth word for those. But I totally missed seeing the HISSY/HUSSY/HUSKY group, and if the solution had been one of those, I’d have gotten a 5 or a 6.

SPOUT → Not a bad start. In retrospect, I thought USUAL might have been a good word here - but Scoredle chooses GUESS, doubling the S rather than the U. As for me, I tried my WoFcons & a vowel route
LUNES → Finding the U was nice. Thinking about R words got me to RUSHY, which then suggested
BUSHY → and I thought about CUSHY for a while but decided on
MUSHY
GUSHY was also possible, and Scoredle mentions a couple other bogus-sounding possibilities. Scoredle also finishes in 3 from my start along either its second guess or mine, so this is a good birdie word for the algorithm.

I did what I usually do which is hunt for letters on two, take a reasonable guess on three, see if there seems to be a trap and if so check letters on four ( didn’t feel like going through all the options; only CAMEL and HAZEL cam to mind immediately but I worried I was missing some) then hopefully have two chances to get it.

Forgot to post yesterday - I pulled a three out of my butt with CAUSE > SNOUT > MUSHY. Though, of Scordle’s 116 remaining words, most of the few that weren’t plurals were… questionable, at best.
