After 2, there wasn’t much. DROLL, GROWL, and PROWL had already been used. I overlooked DROOL at 3 but I think I’d have gone with BROIL first even if I’d seen it.

BOXER → Not a bad start. I’d like to throw in an A and two WoFcons, and I see one word that almost certainly isn’t the asnwer but gets me what I’m looking for, so
TAROS → Placed the O - and in a place where the R could have otherwise been, so that’s nice. Trying to think of words with L & N and R in the first two letters. I see one, but it doubles up on the O, which I’d like to avoid. Also, ORLON is a brand name and not that common. Don’t see any opportunities to use I, U or Y for a vowel, so maybe I should double up on the O…
DROOL
Holy cow, ?ROO? is a trap worthy of being discovered by Admiral Ackbar. Scoredle gives six valid words on that pattern for my third guess, so a six (or worse) was definitely in the cards. Scoredle falls into that trap on its second guess but plays it well; after four, there was only one possible guess left.

PUNCH — I thought it’s highly likely to be (bunny gunny); previously used = FUNNY
BUNNY — Damn! That was a wasted attempt. I instead should have identified that it could be: (bungy bunny funky gungy gunky gunny junky); and therefore needed to eliminate/select letters B F G J K; [already used: HUNKY]
GUNKY — okay, now it’s down to (funky junky), 2 words but I only have 1 guess left; so I look at the F words that have previously been used and there have been 77 of them; of the J words previously used there have been only 11 = JAUNT JAZZY JELLY JERKY JIFFY JOINT JOKER JOLLY JOUST JUDGE JUICE; so I’m thinking it’s more likely to be junky, more than funky
JUNKY — oof; wrong thought process! It was instead FUNKY. Damn!!!

DROOL → Whiff, fourth in the last week. Another second guess first, with E & A since I’ve only KOed one vowel
NEATS → Eugh. Next we (aka U & I together) with that N, which leads to a word that ends in G
CUING → Need to try a Y. Should I trust the B?
BUNNY → I should not have trusted the B because that gave me a blind spot about a letter I had already not placed. Alas. But at least I got that Y. Now: J or F? I’ll try
FUNKY
HUNKY and PUNKY were also possible, per Scoredle, but both seem a little more slangy to me. Scoredle also finishes in five, and oddly enough never checks the T.
