BURNT → That’s a pretty good start, and it goes immediately to a pretty good followup
STARE → Hit on both vowels. One WoFcon left, and a good guess to try it with
LATER → Uh-oh. This is a serious trap. E, T & R just from the letters I already know. C, H, M, P, W, what else? I could make a case for D, G & O. This might be a worse trap than the famous ?OUND. For the heck of it, I’ll go with the option that doesn’t sound the same as the others

This one could easily have sunk me. It did sink Scoredle, which also hit the trap on the third guess but was much less lucky. From its own start, Scoredle hits the same trap at two but finishes in five, so what’s up with that?
