From whiff to birdie. Nice!
Six legit words were left (STUNT, SHUNT, STUNK, STUNG, BLUNT, UNCUT). I was due for a little luck.

DETOX → Slow start. But, time for a good first guess second, with A & I featuring along with a couple WoFcons
TRAIN → Found an N, but no vowels hit. U or Y? and where does the T fit? If I try U, I can try to place the T and another WoFcon with
STUNT
An unexpected birdie. Scoredle shows seven nonbogus possibles for that last guess, so perhaps this was a chip-in? Scoredle makes a masterful second guess, but was still only one-in-four to convert the biride - which it does.

SLATE
DOILY
DRILL
I got the exact same yellow-L three days ago and saw no
reason to deviate from the Clue #2 I "carefully selected’ then!
R is the 3rd commonest of all Wordle letters, according to the 'Net,
behind only E and A. Is it wrong to leave it unasked?
But I think an R, if there is one, will fall into place easily
when it’s needed.

STUNT → Whiff. Two WoFcons left, add three vowels and stir, and you get
ARIEL → Hmmm. [GFDK]RILL, perhaps? Is KRILL sufficiently common? I feel like we’ve done GRILL before, so I’ll try
DRILL
From whiff to birdie is a nice feeling. Scoredle avoids the trap by guessing a past-tense vowel for its second word, which leaves it with a tap-in par.
