SLATE
CRONY
FURRY
RUGBY
The early Y may not be urgent but it’s better than H, and I do want a word with C,R and N.
Only four words occurred to me after #2 and Hurry was already-used.
The choice was Furry and Murky; with nothing to go on I chose the more optimistic word.
I couldn’t ask Rugby as my #3 since it doesn’t distinguish between Furry/Murky.
On the matter of yesterday’s word, does anyone else think that using Dodgy
for the secret was a bit, well, dodgy ? Dictionaries mark it “informal, chiefly British.”
I realize Josh Wardle is from Wales, but the NY Times isn’t.
(I am quite familiar with the word; maybe I picked it up from a Brit.)

GRASS → Fifth G in a row! And a wasted S. Need to check vowels - let’s try three, with a WoFcon
ROGUE → Oh my. Pretty much gotta be
RUGBY
Short and sweet - under half a minute start to finish. Scoredle uses an anagram of my second guess for its own; the two guesses are 1st & 2nd on Scoredle’s list of possibles, but mine turned out a tiny bit better because my second word for the third guess was more bogus than theirs, giving me a tap-in vs. their 50-50 birdie putt.

{Day 4 of 29, hello from the Philippines!}
Since Wednesday is behind us, no matter where we are in the world, I figure minimal blurring should suffice.
My WAG is that when the FTFNYT did its review of Wardle’s list of solutions, they weeded out terms they considered derogatory or too sexual, but otherwise basically left the list intact other than adding a few more words.
Anyhow, despite having gotten a 6 yesterday, I don’t have a problem with yesterday’s solution.
Wasn’t getting there
