CRANE - Heart flutter after three letters
CRASH
CRAMP
CRAWL - This was what came to mind after the opener, but I didn’t go with it.
WAFER → That’s a disturbingly good start. I can see a followup with two WoFcons, so I’ll take it
TRAWL → And that’s a solid followup! Small trap now, of course, but it looks like just B|C|D to choose from, anywhare from birdie to bogey. Why not alphabetical order?
BRAWL → Nope.
CRAWL
Once again, a holdover letter from yesterday’s solution helps immensely. My second guess was pretty lucky; Scoredle shows 11 nonbogus possibles for it. Scoredle itself finishes in three; it hits the trap with T instead of D as its third possible, and makes the 1-in-3 putt for birdie.
Wordle 1,301 4/6
YEAST (Well, at least I can look for all the vowels.)
MIAOU (Now that that’s out of the way, I can wrack my brains looking for four consonants.)
WRACK (That worked out pretty well.)
CRAWL (Only word left.)

CRAZY and CRAMP were still left, so this could have gone pretty badly.

CRAWL → Whiff. Feels pretty bad after the last two days of lucky carryovers. But, I can check the last three WoFcons and the next two vowels with one word, so I got that going for me
STONE → That was… less productive than I hoped. I’d like to try all three remaining vowels with one guess… and I saw a word that could do that, which made my day
UNIFY → At least the Y is placed. Move N & I over and try… a double letter? Eh, why not
NIPPY → That’s why not. At least I’ve found the N by process of elimination. Let’s see, two guesses left, and DINKY, DINGY, HINKY (slangy)… any more? Hope not. I feel like it’s DINGY, but DINKY is the safe play, so
DINKY → Ha, my feeling was correct. But I’m glad I played it safe.
DINGY
Scoredle finishes in five from my start, ironically with all greens (in contrast to me chasing letters all over the word). Despite the score, I felt like this was a pretty much puzzle all around.
