I was a bit lucky here. After 2, I came up with a list of 19 words that could fit, and discarded two as being too obscure. Of the remaining 17, 15 had already been used! Down to EYRIE and the solution (or so I thought), I went with the solution for the 3.
But putting it through Scoredle after having solved it, I (unsurprisingly) saw three possibilities I’d missed in my search. The surprise was that two out of the three I’d overlooked hadn’t been used - EERIE and PUREE, two perfectly legit solutions. So I really hit on about a 1 in 4 chance, rather than taking the easily better of two possibilities.

My followup was less than impressive - it still kept 88 possibles with upwards of 30 of them being valid, by my count - but moving to double up on the letter I did with guess 3 was less than useful - I should have tried the final common vowel as well. Thus, the bogey. With a couple of good guesses (including one to do the same double-up move I tried), Scoredle manages to eliminate every valid possible other than the answer, which it finds with tap-in par. Good day by the algorithm.
