My third guess was 9/11 (with 3 valid guesses), but I prefer it to Scoredle’s proposal because it locked in a par. Scoredle’s followup uses three vowels, so it places two letters from the outset; after one more largely eliminational guess, it sinks a 50-50 putt for a par.
I got today’s Wordle in four guesses. My fourth guess was the only word I could think of that fit the pattern, but I had doubts that it was right because it struck me as a very obscure word. I knew what it meant because my father used to make me one whenever I had a cold: whiskey, lemon juice, honey, and boiling hot water; you were supposed to drink it fast before the alcohol had time to evaporate. It’s not the sort of word I see or hear often at all. Gemini tells me it is a rarer word than myrrh which I seem to recall a lot of people complained about for being too obscure (but maybe not in this thread). In that case, I suppose it was the obscurity of the spelling rather than the word itself that bothered people.

After 1, there was just the SLING - SLUNG - SLINK - SLUNK quadrilateral. Whichever one I went with, the worst case was a 3. SLUNG was the only one that had been used, and early enough that a re-use wasn’t out of the question. So I chose one, and got lucky.

I was pretty surprised when the letters kept coming up green - I hadn’t thought a solve likely. The answer was a good exploratory guess, at 2/31, but with something like 15-19 valids at that point, it took some luck to get the right one. Scoredle has some bad luck, guessing the order wrong on the remaining vowels at 3, then missing a 1-in-3 par putt that fortunately leaves a tap-in bogey.
