PSHAW → Whiff. I’ll try a good first word second… with two vowels, since I’ve only exercised one so far
TONER → One consonant, one vowel, unplaced. One WoFcon left - I’ll focus on it and other consonants, not try to expand my vowels
LETCH → Whoops, already had the H. And for what? Placed the T, not much else. E must be initial or terminal. Almost certainly not both. Thought about variations on the EXT- theme here, to no avail (EXTOL already gone, of course). Eventually settled on a German loanword
BITTE → Which made the solution a cinch

Put a sleep between 3 & 4, which helped. Followup was 34/2984, third guess cut it down to seven possibles, so wasn’t as useless as I had thought. And then not taking a couple seconds of thought once I had settled on the fourth guess cost me - but in the end, success. Scoredle finishes in four, but with a 1-in-3 putt that comes up aces in the end.
