Words Beginning with "b-e-p"

As far as I know, there are no words in the English language that start with the aforementioned letters.

Or, are there…?

My unabridged dictionary has several: bepaint, bepaper, bepatched, bepicture, beplaster, bepowder, bepraise, bepranked, bepuffed, bepuzzle, bepuzzlement.

Beplumed
“Furnished with feathers” (Shorter OED)

Well, of course, I meant to say, words in the English language that any of us has ever used in a sentence.

Sheesh!

“His costume for the play was beplumed as if he were a human peacock”

When I was in elementary school, our spelling teacher would ask us to spell a word and then ask us to put that word in a sentence. If I didn’t know the word, I"d use the following sentence,

“I do not know what the word beplumed means.”

I would only ever use this sentence about once per year and the teachers always got a kick out ot it.

Well, it’s probably an archaic term (Richard Burton used it in Arabian Nights), but I think we oughta revive it!

bephuddled?

In spelling bees I participated in in grade school, you were allowed to ask the teacher giving the word to either define the word or use it in a sentence before you had to spell it. I was such a little prick back then – I used to love to hang the teachers out to dry and ask them to use some crazy words in sentences, even though I already knew exactly how to spell the word.

bepble.
