Words or phrases you've coined (update to closed thread)

I’m still trying to get “sprike”, a gutterball/spare frame, going in bowling alleys.

My son called the act of releasing the pressure in a pop bottle before opening it all the way “sneezing” the pop.

My sister and I used to call especially personality-less, shapeless people WABs, Walking After-Births, but I’m not sure if we made it up or heard it elsewhere.

I use “pulled an OJ” for when someone who owes someone a lot of money suddenly claims to be broke.

I often tell people who are worrying about trivia matters (My neighbor hasn’t returned my punchbowl, and I need it for this weekend) “I only worry about things that involve fire or blood.”

“Fractal cyborg”; a cyborg which is formed of merged machinery and flesh at every scale at once. From a mix of mechanical & organic limbs, to cybernetic organs among living ones, to cells with synthetic organelles inside them; whatever scale you look at it, it is both machine and organic.

I really want to ask how you came up with this phrase, but I’m afraid.

Trying to come up with a group classification for creatures like that in fiction; the Chironians in The Ring of Charon and sequels for example.

“I’ve dumped my pedophile boyfriend and now I’m dating a sadist.”
“A step up from the basement doesn’t put you in the attic.”

Back in college they gave us a welcome to the dorm pack that had Daytime relief cold medicine.

Quite proud that the company eventually changed it to DayQuil like we called it.
