I’ve had the TV on in the other room during some of the games, so I’ve been listening almost as much as watching. I would have sworn one of the commentators was Mary Carillo.

Not to take anything away from how bad Argentina were, but the referee was also terrible. Yes, it was a chippy game, but he made it worse. He let some really serious fouls go completely, was totally inconsistent in his bookings, and had bad man management. Rebic and Otamendi should both have been sent off.
And I can’t even with that business of letting play continue for like 20 seconds with the injured Croatian lying in midfield, then deciding to blow the whistle when Argentina was setting up their attack around the box, then running away after successfully infuriating all 22 players for opposite reasons. If you think there’s a genuine serious problem, blow it dead immediately. Otherwise, you wait until the ball goes out or play is coming back in a way that would endanger the player on the ground. Such a bad feel for the game.

I didn’t catch their names, but they were both guys, and one of them sounds exactly like Mary Carillo.
