World of Warcraft General Discussion

I need to get one of those for my rouge! HaHa!

Oh my yes, they’re terribly useful. You may wish to consider finding a friend you can blackmail into it.

The SO’s 80 rogue is good fun to travel with. Fan of Blades ftw!

Kutkal hit 76 over vacation, which I’m very pleased with. I also got to Revered with the Kalu’ak just running the quests and doing a few dailies. I love these roly poly walrus men and wish we had more quests with them.

Overlord Agmar is an ass and needs to be fed to Nerubians. Feet first.

One thing though – I was with a pretty good pug that ran AN, and we did good, so we figured we’d come back and do Old Kingdom. We wiped on the trash. :frowning:

Group makeup was: aff lock, bm hunter, tree, frost mage, blood DK. (We loved the DK because he knew where his D&D button was and could tank, cue tears of joy from the first 3 listed due to prior bad experiences)

I can’t be sure, but after some post-wipe research I think that what we were doing wrong was not interrupting the spiders with the yoink webbing (or was it the ones that spouted the poison debuff?) before they could get it off. Am I wrong? The druid said that she’d never been able to find a group that could get through OK, so it wasn’t just this group…

I’m guessing you’re talking about Ahn’kahar Spell Flingers. Yes, those pulls are nasty, on normal the Spell Flingers’ Shadow Blast does 50% of the target’s maximum health Shadow damage, on heroic it does 80%
If they get a Shadow Blast off, the tank usually die since there are, what, 3-4 other mobs pounding on him as well.

Got my hunter to 78, and I was doing the Icecrown quest line with the Argent Crusade. Mind you, I’ve done this quest line with three different characters before, but this time I ran into something different - and scary! I was doing the quest where you fly out on the protodragon and scoop up captured crusaders to save them. I flew to around the center-ish of the initial area, not really looking at what was around, and strafed around looking for crusaders. A dark tendril appeared around my character - at first I was just concerned about seeing the crusader, and then after grabbing him, I realized it meant I had to GET THE HELL OUT! Red shouting text had appeared on my screen from The Lich King! He was yelling something about crossing the Scourge for the last time, but most importantly, that dark tendril was a frost attack doing over 2k a pop in damage. Yeah, that was almost ugly.

What do you mean?

I forgot to mention the Servants of Freya! That’s one of the main reason I’m in Wildgrowth Mangal - they drop Crystallized Life, which always fetches a pretty penny on my server.

Thanks for the note about “release”, but just to be sure, am I supposed to SEE the healer, decline their invite to rez me, run to my body, and then run back to where everyone is?

Thanks

Q

Just ignore the Spirit Healer completely. Wake up as a ghost and just run back to where you died.

This was changed in patch 3.1.

First Aid

[li]You no longer need to complete the “Triage” quest to attain Artisan First Aid. Instead you can learn the Artisan skill from the trainers in the capital cities.[/li][li]You no longer need to learn First Aid from books. The trainers have finally done their reading and are able to teach you the same thing.[/li][/ul]

So what your saying is that I have somehow managed to ding 50 on my human pally without realising that Every Man for Himself will remove the Fear effect?? I only thought it would get me out of traps and snares all this time. Reading the tooltip it couldn’t be clearer though could it?

Removes all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character.

I feel dumb. Not for the first time.

Dinging 50 on my pally means Crusader Strike, Holy Wrath and a trip to Western Plaguelands to slaughter undead. I’ll get my first chance at a run out Wednesday night and I can’t wait.

Mister Rik has said this but it is worth repeating I think. 999 times out of 1000 you’ll want to run back to your corpse and ignore the healer. Get in the habit of doing that all the time is my advice.

Nowhere near close to the McCrap of a McGriddle … a McGriddle is a pair of pancakes with maple chips turned into a breakfast sandwitch with cheese, egg and sausage.

Stroops are way different, they are thin, almost pizzelles but the batter is flavored differently and a thin smear of carmel glues them together.

I suggest you actually try one before you make any erroneous claims.
mmmmm 4 pack for less than $2US …

I have been getting them from fishing off an ice floaty as close to deep water as I can get just off valence Keep … and not out of any spawn pool. I also get the ones that are like little beluga whales.

I fish on Medivh, alliance, but nobody buys premade food on my server apparently - I put it up for sale, underpricing everybody and it never sells =(

I have an auction house mule, I send everything to her and just stack the dribbles of stuff, and sell when I have a whole stack - it is great for tradeskills I dont have like the dalaran leather scraps, and ores, or metal ingots … anything not soulbound goes to trehugger for sale eventually.
Right now I am farming Strath every day so in addition to the armor and weapon drops, I am getting essence of undead, thick silk and um… shadow silk, I discard the runecloth as it takes up too much room and anything not green or blue. If it is soulbound I vendor it =) I am mainly after the faction more than anything =) Since I dont have anybody to heal me of the curses or wormies, I use purification pots, which I make so for every run through strath I have to farm icecap in winterspring for a few hours. Nobody seems to sell icecap on medivh=(

I looked up the term Mule" as it pertains to this thread, and WoW Wiki tells me it’s just a character created to be next to AH for selling purposes - I got that, but can I have two of my toons on the same server at the same time?

I mean I’d HAVE to right, if I’m going to be sending stuff to that toon?

I would have checked this out myself, but it’s Tuesday.

This would help a lot to free up my bagspaces…

Thanks

Q

Okay, PLEASE don’t think I’m being deliberately obtuse, but when I am in an instance and no one rezzes me, aren’t I already lying there? Do I wake up myself then after 6 minutes have passed?

I think what you’re saying is that I can get up, take a look at my mini-map and run to where my corpse is?

I have started doing the other when I am on a solo quest. I had gotten lazy and didn’t realize that not only was I getting sick, so was my gear! ;):smack:

Thanks, Rik

Q

You can have up to 10 characters on each server (to a total cap of 50 characters). Also, once you’re eligible to make a Death Knight (i.e., lvl 55 or over on any one toon), you can only make one DK per server.

Yeah, you can have up to 10 characters (EDIT - As jayjay just said above) on the same server. Note that you can’t CREATE a character next to the auction house - you have to walk them there from the starting area. But generally even a level 1 can navigate the road to the capital city pretty safely.
