World of Warcraft General Discussion

Yeah, the other folks just looked naked (and it was only the two that were in the instance before me). It was pretty hilarious - although not as funny as Bosstone’s story

Well that stinks. Seal of Command is still a talent, not a trainable ability, so if I want to replace SoM with SoC, I’ll have to completely respec (on my lvl 80 pally, anyway) just to put the one lonely point in there

I’ll just go with Seal of Vengeance for now.
AddOns: So far most of mine either worked fine after the patch, or have been quickly updated. Gatherer, though, is annoying me because it’s detecting the new locations and popping up a message that it doesn’t know about those locations, but assuring me that it will continue to work just fine outside of those locations. Except it’s popping this notice up every single time I log in a character. I also had to disable the WowHead Looter addon (it keeps track of the things you loot/gather and where you find them, and then later you can upload everything to WowHead’s database) because the patch changed something and now every time I loot or gather something it pops up a Lua error.

I recently installed the PetLeash addon after somebody here mentioned it, and I thought it was kind of cool, but I ended up disabling it because I couldn’t find a setting to tell it that when I dismiss a pet, I want it to stay dismissed. The pets were giving me trouble in combat (particularly flying pets, which tend to get in the way when I’m trying to click to select a target - I kept clicking on the pet instead of the enemy) and when I was looting corpses (mainly non-flying pets, which like to stand on top of the corpses, again meaning I kept clicking the pet instead of the corpse). So I’d dismiss whatever pet I had out, and PetLeash would just automatically summon another one. (Though not in combat, since I had the “Never in Combat” box checked; I’d dismiss my pet as soon as I left town, and it would just summon another one, and when I’m entering combat I want to fight, not fool with dismissing a pet.)

Okay, I was under the impression that the new quest-tracking was somehow going to be like questhelper, in the sense that it would point out where you need to go for questing. Was this nixed, or is it something I need to turn on?

I don’t think you get an arrow, it just marks your map. Regardless, it won’t be enabled by default, so you’ll need to check your Interface options. But the good news is that new options now have an “!” next to them so you can see what’s new to check out.

MMO Champion has a Druid forms preview compilation (matches humanoid to animal shades, which I didn’t see on a quick scan of WoW Insider), or direct to Night Elf or Tauren.

Hmm, just noticed a bug (well, I actually noticed it last night but just confirmed it today). I was looking at my talent tree in-game and it said I had one unspent talent. “Hmm,” I thought, “must have missed one when I last re-specced.” So I dumped it into a useful spot and confirmed.

I was just looking at my armory and confirmed that I now have a 0/18/54 Survival spec! Pretty sure that’s not right…

I got in last night, updated and force-loaded addons but a bunch of them are borked hard so I’ll have to wait. (Cartographer and Gatherer)

Druid forms are awesomecakes. Mine’s a dark grey spotted moocow so I got the black cat and dark grey bear. Is good.

Also annoyed that the sprite darter pet is soulbound. It dropped on my DK when I’d been farming runecloth while staying far away from Dalaran, and I wanted to mail it to my main… psyche! I about banged my head on the desk – Kut’s been looking for that thing for a while now and it drops within 5min on the DK. Oy.

It wasn’t implemented this patch, from what I can tell it’s still on the table just not done yet.

Makes sense that it’s soulbound, given that it was added as a drop for the Horde since the Alliance get it through a quest. It’s just Murphy’s Law as applied to the RNG: the BOP item you are grinding for will always drop for another of your characters.

If it’s a really low drop rate, you could always open a ticket and ask a GM if they could move it to your main. The worst they can do is say no.

Yeah, that makes complete sense – fair’s fair. Thanks for the GM suggestion, but I’ll just have to take Kut back to do more farming and sacrifice juju to the gods of RNG. I should’ve looked closer at the information on the pet but I assumed, etc.

In any event, now my tragic orc DK is rocking a tiny, brightly colored lizard as she wades through Feralas. Cognitive dissonance ftw.

Don’t forget to pick up Herbalism, so you can wade through fields of flowers in low-level zones, accompanied by said tiny pink-purple-and-teal flying fairy lizard.

Always worth a link.

That’s why I like my undead shadow priest, with his bald head and rotting flesh, skulking around with his orange tabby

INORITE? I’ve seen that strip before, still made of sheer win. XD (and btw, thanks for the link, I’d forgotten that webcomic needs to be on my rotation)

Don’t tempt me regarding herbalism.

According to the error alert that comes up, Gatherer works just fine except in the newly-opened areas (specifically, Hrothgar’s Landing). So far it’s working perfectly for my Miners and Herbalists.

  1. I just levelled to 37 (hold applause, please!:)), but it seems to me kind of anti-climactic because my next level requires over 60K XP. and so maybe I’ll go after some of those Hamerfell guys over on the Arathi Highlands, and just grind.

  2. I also picked up a couple of quests I can’t do alone, one of which involves getting some kind of machine out of the Dead Mines, so I’ll see about getting a group for that one.

  3. Is there any kind of a list somewhere that tells you what you can buy to improve armor, weaponry, etc. at whichever level you reach, without going to AH and doing a browse, or visiting a shop?

  4. I’m at 75 with my riding skill and at level 40, I guess I can upgrade my skill, but because I like horses and like this one, can I keep her and maybe armor her up, instead of buying another mount? (I think I may have asked this one before in another way, so please excuse the repeat.:)).

  5. My one-handed sword ( nowin the bank) has less power than the two-hander I am now using, but I aquired a stronger SHIELD than the one I had. What criteria should I use to witch back, or should I even do that?

Thanks

Quasi

Allakhazam works for me, it has a search function, and you can import your character into it and tell it to look for upgrades

Nope, you have to buy a new horse if you want to go faster. You get to keep Silka, though - once you have a mount, you always have it.

:):):):slight_smile:Mister Rik:):):)

You remembered my horse’s name!

How cool is THAT, and it also shows you think that well of me!

I appreciate that, as I appreciate ALL of you!

Thanks for the info (again)!

Quasi/Wolkie and Silka;)

ETA: I’m in Southshore’s Alterec Mountains fighting Crush (something) Gnomes and Brutes!

They’re mostly 35’s, so I’m not having too much trouble killing them. Going after Warmongers next!

aruvqan: I registered for it, thanks!

Join in at my level or avoid? I’m in the town hall, right now. If I get onto it with these level ??, I’ll just get killed right?

But what if I don’t even try?

Thanks
