I’ve used it, but I usually start in Dal anyway, so CoT is faster.
Yes, you’re right…ok, thanks for straightening me out on this.
Tom, did you want the saronite savage bracers? I can go make some and mail them to you if you do.
Is that the dino mount from Un’Goro? I keep forgetting to start that. How long does it usually take?
Nah, I think I’ve looked at them on the AH and they’re not better than what I’ve got now. I’ll just have to run some heroics until I have enough Plot Tokens to buy the purples in Dalaran.
ETA: That was in reply to Yeticus.
…and I didn’t, but I just wanted y’all to know there isn’t a one of you I wouldn’t have trusted to play Wolkie and Silka during the time (my vacation - NOW) I couldn’t have logged on.
If any of y’all get the chance, take a look at ol’ Wolkenlaufre in the Armory, and let me know what you think.
You know I trust you kids!
Thanks

It does indeed appear off. Idol of Terror is ilvl 128, but WoWhead shows Idol of the Plainstalker (ilvl 138, but actually worse than Terror), Perspicacious Attacks (150), Ravenous Beast (200), and Worship (213), all of which appear to be added before or on patch 3.1.
ETA: Unless Mogle was talking about a direct upgrade to Terror, as in “Your Mangle has a chance to grant X Agility for Y sec.” In which case he’s right. But there were definitely options for Feral idols.
At the very least, 20 days. There’s a preliminary quest, where you have to get splashed by venomhide blood 20 times. That took me about fifteen minutes. Then you have to go get venomhide eggs from the nests…that took about five. Then you get a hatchling, and you have to acquire 20 raptor baby teeth from it (after it loses twenty baby teeth, then it’s an adult). The baby teeth you get one at a time, as quest rewards for a daily. You will also need 20 rugged leather and 20 runecloth, IIRC.
Really? I need to take another look at that one. I thought the area you portaled to was technically in Ungoro but actually surrounded by unclimbable mountains.
I’ve never heard that term before, but I think I like it.
I read this as “options for Feral idiots,” and was all ready to say, “Hey now, Bosstone, there’s no reason to be rude about it.” :smack: :o
I haven’t jumped through the portal recently, but I’m pretty sure you can get down into the basin. Could be wrong, though.
It’s an interesting tradeoff in style between the Alliance Wintersaber and the Horde Venomhide Ravasaur. The Horde mount requires daily quests, each one of which doesn’t take very long, but which require the process to take at least as many days as you need turn-ins. The Alliance mount, on the other hand, requires repeatable quests, but with no restriction as to how many times you can do them per day, so you could theoretically grind the whole thing in a day or two, assuming you did nothing but grind the quests (I think it’s something like 16 hours of work, total).
Personally, I wish both factions would offer you the choice between both “tracks”: that way, people who want to grind it out quickly can do so, but those of us who’d rather just put in a small investment each day over a longer period have that option, instead of making all Horde do it one way and all Alliance the other.
You missed Idol of the Wastes(green ilvl 146). ![]()
Anyway, I was talking about tanking idols, most of the ones you listed are dps idols. The only pre-Ulduar tank idol is the Idol of Perspicacious Attacks and it’s, well, junk.
Hey, even though I’ve got Resto on the back burner, I’m full Feral kitty right now too. Just two more levels to Mangle!
It’s a snarky term mainly used by fantasy fans to describe the kind of plot where the hero has to go visit every country named on the map in the inside front cover of the book and collect a Plot Token in each of them in order to complete the plot and destroy the Evil One (or whatever).
Personally, I persist in calling them badges (from the single tier of TBC token, Badge of Justice), even though everything in Wrath has been Emblems of various sorts, just so I can constantly say in my head, “Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges!”
On TVTropes, it’s known as a Plot Coupon.
Ah. I was wondering why I couldn’t google the term up on TVTropes.
Thanks! I wanted one of those for my warlock. Heading down after work!
The portal from Shalozar Basin to Un’Goro does indeed drop you in the mountains (a bit to the west of Marshall’s Refuge). But it’s an easy drop down into the crater – you just can’t get back up again.
You can also only get the daily from your pet venomhide in Tanaris, Un’Goro or Silithius, so you can’t find out where the daily is first and then decide which portal to use. Of the three different dailies I’ve done, two are in Un’Goro and one in Tanaris.
My neice is playing a game called Pokemon that seems to work this way.
That’s active all the time after you turn it on? I’ve only tried to go there when required for quests - the one with Freya I think, and one with the new Oracle orphan quest chain.
