World of Warcraft General Discussion

I knew that.

Just having a bit of fun with y’all!

BTW, I was in SH a while ago, but Heather wasn’t dressed in a Halloween outfit, but DID have a huge pumpkin in back of her. Am I supposed to click on that?

Stay tuned for another “WoW” related thread. THIS knocked my socks off.

Q

We just got home after another long day of filling out forms, and in the garage there’s this big box, and in it was the largest monitor I have ever seen. It’s called a “Dual HOMI”.

Nothing with it to indicate who sent it, just a big note with the words “For Quasi” on it.

Oh, it’s got all the paperwork, manual and all, just nothing to indicate where it came from or who sent it.

Nope. No shipping label either. Torn off.

So I’m gonna suspect it was someone from here, because y’all and The Domers are the only ones who refer to me as Quasi anymore.

I used to be “Quasimodem” on another message board, but that was years ago.

So what am I gonna do with y’all?

You give me/us money, you (aruvqan) pay for my WoW for a whole year, and now I get to enjoy the game larger than ever, courtesy of who?

JSYK, I’m posting about this on The Dome too, since they know what’s going on with me as well, but this totally flabbers my gast!:):)

**THANK YOU, Mr/Ms Anonymous!!!
**

If you want to send a pm, I’d like to thank you that way, if possible, but if not, then just know that I am very very grateful for this gift, and will enjoy using it to play with Wolkie and Silka in Azeroth.

Jesus! Y’all are un-fargin’-believably kind!

Thanks

Bill

So this dwarf warrior of mine got a Flimsy Male Human mask, and thanks to the way his mustache stick through the mask and the kind of beard he has, I just had to change his hair color to match the mask. I like the results:

Quasi, she won’t be dressed up, but just right-click on her and you’ll see the “Trick or Treat!” option.

Rik,

You been right-clickin’ my woman?

J/K and thanks for the info.

Fidin looks…uniquely cool!

Y’all all have interesting-looking toons!

Thanks

Q

Say, what’s up with some of these innkeepers? On three occasions now, I’ve been near an innkeeper when another player has run up to them, gotten the “treat” icon over their heads, and then the performs an emote at the innkeeper (so far, /flex, /dance, and /chicken). Then the innkeeper responds in kind and speaks some text:

/flex: “Ooo, so strong! Happy Hallow’s End, <playername>”

/dance: “I may have ninety-nine problems, but dancing isn’t one! Happy Hallow’s End, <playername>” (In this instance, the innkeeper danced back, and kept right on dancing after the player ran off. Kept dancing until I right-clicked on her.)

/chicken: “Awwk! Awwk! Awwk! Happy Hallow’s End, <playername>”

What’s going on here? I’ve tried emoting at the innkeepers and nothing happens.

  1. Okay, I’m throwing my darts - sometimes I hit and sometimes I miss, so when I miss, how come I get a message telling me throwing skills have improved to “xxx”? Shouldn’t they worsen?

  2. That “That ability isn’t ready yet” guy? He gets “out of sync” with the action sometimes? Because he says that as I’m throwing my darts.

  3. When do we get to ride the Zeps? Is there a particular location where I can pick up the FP, or must I be a higher level than 53?

Thanks!

Q

What, you never learned from your mistakes?

Zeppelins are a Horde transport. Alliance uses boats instead.

“Mighty” Bossy:slight_smile:

You forgot to add the word “Grasshopper” to your answer of number 1!

And the Zeps?

Okay, thanks, I like riding dragons and gryphons much better anyway!

Thanks,

Q

One of the orphans (Stormwind for Alliance, Orgrimmar for Horde, I think) has a quest for the player to get candy for them, because he (the orphan) is ill and can’t trick or treat for himself. The innkeepers ask the player to do an /emote before awarding the candy.

It’s all part of a Hallow’s End quest series: Hallow’s End Treats For Spoops. That’s the Horde version; presumably, there’s an Alliance version, as well.

That’s for a Hallow’s Eve quest, one you get from either the Matron or one of the orphans. I haven’t done it yet this year, so I can’t remember the details.

The zeps are cool. One of the goblins on the Orgrimmar flight tower has some flavor text about whatever they’re inflating the Zeps with is highly flammable. So it’s a good idea not to use any fire spells while riding on them.

Of course, as a young shaman at release, the first thing I did was try to cast flame shock on the balloon. I was horribly disappointed when it didn’t go all Hindenburgy.

Quotes mine…

I just chuckled when I read that “word”! :)

Thanks for the laugh, Goblinboy!

Quasi

Okay, we levelled to 54 just now and yes, we grinded (ground?) our way there! So here’s another couple of Q’s for ya.

  1. After y’all even-level, do you then “hearth-out” and wepps/armor/educate up? I do.

  2. Is the AH always your best bet for getting the most “value” for what you need for your toon, or would it benefit us to visit various merchants? We’ve just always gone to AH, being that everytime we visit a merch, the weapons we need aren’t “geared” to us or they’re too low level.

  3. Could SFG take a look at us in the Armory, pleeeeze, and make some “reccs”?

Thanks

Q

Wheee! I just did a fun bit of “roleplaying”!

I had ToT’d earlier with my female draenei warrior at the Thelsamar inn, and got turned into a frog. I logged out immediately afterward, so when I logged her back in, she was still a frog. There happened to be a male dwarf toon standing next to the innkeeper, so before I ToT’d again I /said, “Kiss me! I’m a princess!” and hopped up and down a bit. He just kind of looked at me, so I /said, “No, really! It’s true!” So he blew me a /kiss, and the timing worked out exactly right - the “trick” timer wore off immediately after he /kissed me. He /laughed, I /thanked him, and he /bowed
Thanks for the explanations on the innkeeper emote things - I’ll hunt down that quest.

I believe you get it from one of the orphans in the orphanage in Cathedral Square in Stormwind. You have to actually go into the orphanage and find him.

Yup, I found him. Jesper in SW

Okay, here’s my second favorite zep story. The first, you’ll recall upthread, was mind-controlling a duel challenger and him throwing off the side.

Another time, Blizz was having some problems with some of its servers, or something. Anyway I just remember the realm being unstable, with everyone experiencing bad lag. I was questing in Stranglethorn, and hopped on the zeppelin to get to Undercity. It was crowded; there were six or seven other folks on the zep with me.

The zep cruised across Stranglethorn Vale, then the loading screen popped up, then we all appeared in Tirisfal. And by “all,” I mean, all of us who were on the zep. What didn’t appear? The zeppelin we had been riding.

So I appear in Tirisfal, in mid air, and drop a hundred feet to my death on the path outside Brill (next to the body of one of my fellow travellers). In the next few seconds – plop, plop, plop – more people are falling out of the sky, as they appear in the skies above Brill. The path is strewn with dead bodies. We’re all laughing in general chat.

A Tauren rides up and goes all O.O “What the hell happened here?” As a half dozen ghosts are running back to there corpses.

I think they shut down the server briefly soon after that.

Well, it should be! Now that there is an option to even change factions as well as servers, everyone should come to Cairne. And hunt down Bipp, Demo, Omen and Kruler among others and make them come back too. Then Yeti we can do what we do every night…Try to take over the world!!! (of Warcraft)

I had been worried about Kruler (because the others had all explained their absence) but I realized he’s posted on SDMB pretty recently, which made me feel better that at least he wasn’t dead! Probably just need a break.

Oh, man, I just remembered a fun trip on the zep. I was going from Orgrimmar to Tirisfal, and I was riding with someone who I was briefly chatting with. As we were coming in to dock at Tirisfal, the zep passed over Brightwater Lake. I was feeling goofy, so I leaped off the zep mid-air with the other guy watching. He got to see as I turned out to have jumped a bit too late, falling to my death on the shore of the lake. Like not 5 feet from the water.

How do you miss a lake? :smack:
