I’ve got one toon that has tons of mini pets. I’ve actually got an addon that handles them for me so that I summon a new one every time I get on or off of some sort of transportation. I’d never use them if I didn’t have something to automate it for me.
-Mike
There is a cascading chain of achievements for collecting pets (and mounts), with “reward pets” and “reward mounts” as the prizes.
Well, looks like I just learned something new, thanks jayjay
Any closer to getting your computer back up?
I went BC and into Outland tonight. Hoowee! Those bad guys are everywhere, huh? I picked up some easy quests though and got 16XP.
I started out in that Mage tower with the swirling lights, and must have stood in there at least 3 minutes trying to pass through? Finally I right-clicked and it worked. Glad I was the only one in there.
Silka seems to have gotten faster, and I am having to learn to work the mouse better. Does that happen at 58?
One other thing, please. Why are there no guys to tell you where stuff is in Honor Hold? Or am I just not seeing them?
Thanks
Q
Thanks I didn’t realise raid frame mods also handled the buffs in the top right so it’s probably time to install one of those and play.
You only find guards that tell you where things are in major cities and HH isn’t one of them. Who are you after?
Don’t remember her name, but she was in “The Broken Tower”. Well which one? That place is a shambles (I KNOW it’s supposed to be, since it’s a war zone).
So anyway, we got lost a lot, bumped into a lotta shit (probably got laughed at by the other players - definitely got laughed at in SW), because Silka’s faster now) and got attacked by guys I didn’t think would and I basically got disoriented there, was gonna ride to the Dark Portal, changed my mind, went back to find the flight master (is there one in HH?) and couldn’t find anyone to ask.
So here’s what I did: Hearthed-out back to SH, flew to Stormwind to participate in the Pilgrimage Feast, got pissed off, because I couldn’t get Wolkie out of the sweet potato chair, when I thought he’d had enough, but he finally jumped up, so I guess that’s the game making him sit there that long?
Here’s what I’m gonna do: Some “clean-up” of some other quests in the EPL, WS and that crater near Tanaris. That should level me to 59, when I can train up again, right? Read the BC manual I have, and THEN go back through the dark portal, when I know a little more what I’m doing.
Thanks
Quasi
Actually, get a nice mage to port you to dalaran, and get the FP there, and set your hearthstone there. They have ports to all the major cities. makes hopping from one area to the other easier.
And spend a saturday morning running around and getting flight points all over. You can actually take the port through to winetrgrasp even if there is not a battloe on, and you are not high enough. The fishing area for horde is right next to the FP on the west edge of the zone. This way you can fly in and do the fishing daily for the fish you have to get in there. I have most of the FP already, and only died a few times =)
Find an enchanter to make you a wand, the endhantermade wands are reasonably inexpensive. Heck, diversify and do enchanting up to the second level wand, make the wands and change to anothr profession if you like, it is easy enough to do at that level. Although for clothwearerd enchanter/tailor isnt bad.
There were a lot more clothwearers preDK =(
ooo which add on? I would love it
Since she’s an alt and I have a wealthy level 80 I got a Tome of Cold Weather Flight and she can just plain old fly into Dalaran herself and set her hearthstone. Plus, I get to fly in Northrend! But you can’t get CWF until level 68, so I used the holiday quests to boost up those last few notches.
and you can have a mage port you into dalaran at level 1 … you do not have to wait until 68 to fly yourself in. Take advantage of the good city ports there, and the tradeskill trainers, and all the northrend connecting flightpoints early =)
Meh - if there was a mage conveniently located nearby, perhaps, but it’s never been something I’ve gone out of my way for. And for questing in the southern Eastern Kingdoms it’s actually not convenient if you’re Horde, as there are no major cities anywhere nearby.
I don’t know what MDSL uses, but I use Mountiful, which helps me manage all my 20+ mounts and 60+ pets.
I’ve used it to set up a macro that ramdomly selects a fast ground mount for me, and another one that randomly summons a pet every time I enter a new zone. I’m trying to figure out how to make it automatically turn off in instances though; that function doesn’t seem to be working right.
You can also set it up to randomize your flying mount, but since I have the violet proto-drake as my only 310% flyer, I don’t use any of my others. Kinda miss my flying carpet
The other night my priest had finished all his dailies for for fun I rolled a BElf warlock. She’s only 11 now (don’t play her much) but yesterday I leveled her cooking literally from 1 to 300 doing the holiday cooking. I don’t know if I could go higher by buying a port to Dal but I figure 300 is going to be high enough to cook anything I want for a long time.
You can specify where you want to go, a?? I thought you just stood in the center of whirling lights, right-click and off you went to a Dark Portal (Blasted Lands for me)
Thanks,
Quasi
That particular portal always takes you to the Blasted Lands. But, you can ask a friendly mage player (of high enough level) to create a temporary portal for you to Dal (or any major city). It’s customary to tip the Mage for this service.
You party up with them, give them their tip, and they’ll do their hocus-pocus to create the portal which you can click on to step through.
Okay, cool.
Thanks, Skammer
Q
Auto-Attack question:
I have it enabled, but today Wolk’ just stands there and lets himself get it unless I click the mouse to get him started.
Also, I need a new quest tracker. QH is showing me my targets, but then it does that down arrow thing when I want to acquire something, such as Pamela’s Doll.
Is there anything better than QH, in your opinion?
Thanks
Quasi
Reading the quest text carefully and looking it up on wowhead or similar sites if I really need to has worked well for me the past 4.5 years. shrug
Auto-attack just enables you to make normal (non-special) attacks without having to hit the Attack button over and over once you start attacking. It doesn’t initiate attacks, you have to do that. And it doesn’t auto-defend if you’re attacked while you’re away from the keyboard…you can’t do that in WoW. It’s too much like a bot.
ETA: And no, I’m still computerless. I really do think my motherboard fried when the power supply went. It’s actually more economical for me to just save for a little bit and get a new computer (that will be about 4 or 5 times better than the old one but cost about 2/3 as much as the old one did new).
nope, they have an area with portals set up in a row, figure out which city you want to go to and click on it, and there you go =)
They have an area for horde, and an area for alliance.
