World of Warcraft General Discussion

Add a /tar Lake Frog to that and all you have to do is click. It’ll auto-target the nearest frog. Means you have to basically run up on top of the frog you want to mack on, since otherwise it’ll just target your ladies, but it’s still less work.

Also, once you’re a Champion with a capitol, you’ll be able to joust against the Champion’s in the big ring out front - you get the quest for that from a female draenei (Luuri, I think her name is) over in the rectangular tent at the other end of the tournament grounds.

That was one of Blizzard’s April Fool’s pranks, Quasi. I don’t know how long it’ll be like that. EVERYONE’S Armory profile looks like that.

Don’t pay 5K for your artisan flying. Depending on your reputation with either Stormwind or an Alliance faction in Northrend whose name I can’t remember (I’m hoping somebody who’s familiar with Alliance will come along and help here–Horde equivalent is Horde Offensive at Warsong Hold) you can get epic flying for as low as 4,000g (if you’re Exalted with one of those factions). For Stormwind rep to count, you have to get your training at Honor Hold in Hellfire Peninsula. For your Northrend faction rep to count, you have to do it in Borean Tundra (is is Valiance Keep for Alliance?) Price scales with rep, so if you’re Exalted it’s 4K, Revered is 4,250, Honored is 4,500, and Friendly is 4,750. If you’ve been doing any questing at all (and it sounds like you have), you should be at least Honored with one or the other, which will save you 500g.

Do not, under any circumstances, buy your training in either Dalaran or Shadowmoon Valley! Those aren’t associated with any factions and will charge you the full 5K.

Right, you always end up with the two most-recently-kissed frogs following you around, so adding the /tar to the macro is liable to target them, and they’re invalid targets. Unless, as Bosstone said, you stand right on top of the one you want to target.

OTOH, the /kiss command doesn’t seem to have a significant range limitation, you if you click to target the frogs you can pretty much stand in one spot and click away instead of running from frog to frog.

Oh man, that tuskarr is stretching my brand new PvP leg armor all out of shape

I see my armory page is declaring that I “Ninjaed” my new Furious Gladiator’s Scaled Legguards and then vendored them :stuck_out_tongue:

Also yesterday, WowHead became TacoHead, and no matter what item/achievement/whatever you searched for, it returned an item called “Spicy Taco” or something like that. Cute!

Gonna borrow one of your :smack:s, jayjay:). Totally missed the part about April Fool’s day being yesterday!

Okay, that makes me feel better. Also it was telling me I “cheesed” several quests. I’m thinking that’s something derogatory, huh?

Had to use the Spirit Healer just now though. I tried to rezz my corpse in Borean Tundra, and I was standing RIGHT ON TOP of it, y’all and nothin’. I was going after the 20 Talamaran Scourges.

I wonder how come you can get within an 1/8 of inch sometimes and it’ll ask if you wanna rezz now, but then other times, you can be standing right on top and nothing?

Thanks Quasi (who is now at 6%. I figure if I do 15% a day. I’ll be done in 7 days with level 70.

BAD day for Da Wolk’. Died 6 times in a row and had to the SH 3 times! Damn Steeljaws Caravan. Everytime I wanted to rezz my corpse, the bastards were RIGHT there. Finally made ot Valiance Keep and it took 17 gold to fix him! That whole area sucks.

All arms abilties are darkened now. Getting fixed didn’t help. Disgusted with myself!

Where’s The “Lame Room”?, SFG? I got a notification that you sent a message there? I definitely qualify, or did the webmaster make a typo?

I had skinning knife equipped! Goddamit!:smack:

More Blizzard April Tomfoolery that I missed yesterday:

Battle.net Neural Interface

Equipment Potency EquivalencE Number

When someone (a friend) tells you they’ve “just been farming” what do they mean? And I don’t mean gold farmers. There must be some other definition.

Could mean several things. If they’re a Miner or Herbalist or Skinner, they’ve been doing those things, or they’ve been collecting materials for this or that profession. Sometimes somebody is looking for a specific piece of gear that is know to drop from a certain kind of mob, or a specific mob, so they’ll spend time just killing those mobs over and over to see if the item drops.

Farming just means “doing a repetitive task over and over to collect a lot of something, usually to make money.” You can farm for darn near anything in the game, like Rik says.

Knocked out three Heroics yesterday - Utgarde Keep, An’Kahet, and Violet Citadel, and finished with enough Emblems of Triumph to finally upgrade my gloves from the Kirin Tor rep gloves I’d been wearing for too long.

I only died once — in rather bizarre circumstances, in UK. We were in the dragon room engaging a single dragon and its handler, when both I and the tank died rather abruptly, and one of the other DPS a moment later and finally the last DPS, and the healer was the only one left standing. Absolutely no idea what happened, other than the tank saying something after he died about the healer and line of sight. In any case, it wasn’t a fight I would have expected a near-wipe on.

OTOH, I survived a couple situations through sheer dumb luck, both in An’Kahet, and both because it was my first time in that dungeon and I didn’t know what I was doing or the route. We’d just cleared one room (more of a platform, actually) and I sat down to drink quickly, and the rest of the party took off for the next room. Thanks to a large corpse blocking my view, I didn’t see which way they went, and in my attempts to find them I aggroed a crowd of elite trash. I fled, and somehow lucked into a spot at the very edge of the platform where for some reason the mobs couldn’t attack me and if I tried to attack them I got that “Evade” message. I stayed there and hollered for help, and the group ran back and bailed me out. The second was on the final boss, who hit me (twice!) with that Insanity thing. Except I had no idea what was happening when the rest of the group was apparently attacking me (the guys in BDL explained it later when I asked about it); I thought they were being mind-controlled or something, so I was just running around trying not to kill them, but they kept whittling my HPs down. But I guess our non-illusory healer was using some big AoE heal, because I seemed to get healed every time I was near death.

Curious about the An’Kahet and Azjol’Nerub instances: do those instances normally suffer from people dropping group a lot? The RDF has put me into each of them once, and in each it has placed me in an “in progress” group. I only participated in the last 3 bosses of AK, and only the final boss in AN. And in AN we wiped on the first attempt at Anub’Arak, after which the tank and one of the DPS dropped and we had to queue up again for replacements. Just luck-of-the-draw coincidence?

Violet Hold wasn’t difficult, having done it a couple days ago with BDL on my other pally, although aside from Cyanigosa the bosses were all different. The only one that was any trouble was Xevozz, the ethereal guy. I don’t know if it was him or if it was the tank, but I had to chase that guy all over the damn place.

Anyway, I hope nobody inspects my gear and gives me grief over wearing my Furious Gladiator’s Scaled Legguards PvP pants in PvE. I’m wearing them until something better drops or I save up enough badges to buy new pants, because they’re better in every way than the Legplates of Bloody Reprisal Wyrmrest rep pants (tank gear!) I’d been wearing. The resilience might not help in PvE, but it also doesn’t hurt anything.

ETA: Oh yeah, my draenei mage dinged 70 last night, so now I’ve got four toons in Northrend

I love reading posts such as the one above and from everyone else. I don’t pretend to know what you guys are talking about, but it does inspire me to keep playing!

Happy Noblegarden! Gather ye eggshells while ye can.

And don’t forget to laugh heartily at the egg spawn campers!

I kind of got pissed off when I saw those guys. I was having fun racing around Bloodhoof Village pouncing on eggs whenever I ran across them. Camping spawns seems so…joyless, especially for what’s actually kind of a fun holiday.
