Booya! While doing some heavy Glacial Salmon fishing this morning, I pulled up a Sea Turtle! It’s no Time-Lost Protodrake, but it’ll do.
I try to cut them some slack since it’s been several years since they designed the classic zones and they’ve learned a lot about what works and what doesn’t, but yeah, it’s pretty bad. All I can suggest is stop trying to pay attention to the minimap, which doesn’t tell you height. It just mushes all the levels together. You need to focus more on your surroundings and explore a little more carefully. It can be done if you’re attentive; people always bitch about the barrow dens, and those maps are awful too, but keeping track mentally pays far more dividends.
Yah, I checked WowHead and somebody said it counts. Most of the things I needed to collect were actually outside the instance. But with only 113 quests to go for Kalimdor, I’m checking WowHead on most of the quests I find to make sure they count
.
/cheer! The turtle sure is fun, and handy for those underwater adventures. Sea Turtle + underwater breathing from the Kalu’ak Fishing Pole, and you never need to come up
I was trying to kill everything so I would leave a trail of dead bodies to show me the routes I’d already tried, but they respawned too quickly.
Someone remind me to visit the First Aid trainer more often.
I went from Mageweave -> Heavy Mageweave -> Runecloth in one visit. I mean, I had to buy one ability, make the bandages, then talk to the trainer again.
… it occurs to me me that even though it is directed at someone in a mythical land, it does project “jerk-ism” and name calling, and that is just wrong for the forum and for what I agreed to, so I apologize to the person to whom my remarks were directed and just ask that you not come after** Heather** again, please, and if you have the urge to do so, please remember that Wolkie is on another continent and his inn is at VK.
My apologies once again, and if you prefer, (instead of cowardly killing Wolkie’s SO) we can settle this with a duel at a place and time of your choosing.
What are the tanking tactics for the Dragon boss in Nexus? Wiped 3 times on that one yesterday.
Am i supposed to be kiting the damn thing around whilst keeping it’s head away from the healer? How am I supposed to maintain aggro whilst kiting, wouldn’t the DPS out threat me then?
Grats to all and good work Quasi keep fighting the good fight for the Light even if you’re only doing it for your own sexual gratification…
I have my first title! I am officially Sagan of Stormwind and my little squire makes me very happy. Also looks like I have more frogs to kiss even though I assumed there was no way I would do that again but to buy anything decent with Crusader Seals you need the title with all the alliance cities (which I am sure isn’t news to you all but it was to me). On that, what is the quickest way to up my rep, cloth hand ins or doing low level quests in the starter zones? Anyone done this recently?
I am struggling healing the Black Knight in ToC, so much AoE damage added to the adds which want to eat my face makes this Holy Pally fail quite a bit.
The Dragon puts a debuff on you called Intense Cold which will stack quite quickly but you remove it if you jump or move. The rest of the team should not be behind the dragon but to the side and they should move or jump too.
OK, now I’m starting to think wipe 3 wasn’t down to me then. I was jumping like crazy, had the dragon pointed away from the healer and was taunting, shield bashing etc to keep at the top of Omen. I still died and then everyone wiped. That would be a healer issue no?
Awesome! I’m insanely jealous, that mount is cool.
Very nice!
Grats!
Yeah, I’ve been working on my holy pally (lvl 63 now) and AoE damage makes me weep. Beacon of Light on the tank is essential, then I usually end up Flash of Light-ing everyone else like crazy (starting with me) and crossing my fingers that I can keep up.
If you were holding threat, that’s all your group can ask of you. It’s a tough fight to heal at level because you have to keep jumping around, so spells with long cast times are problematic.
Healer and probably dps as well - as in the dps (or some of them) were probably not jumping/moving and thus piling up big stacks of damage, and the healer was letting him/herself get distracted by them instead of focusing on the tank. Ideally the healer shouldn’t get distracted, but there you go.
Oh, and I was excited on Friday to get into an ICC25 pug that seemed really strong. We one-shotted Marrowgar and Gunship easily and 2-shotted Deathwhisper. It looked like we were in good shape, but unfortunately we wiped about four times on Saurfang before people had to leave. The first few wipes were caused by some of our melee (mainly the pallies and a DK) being unable to refrain from using AoE up on the platform. But other dps had trouble with the adds, as well. Naturally it was not the fault of the healers
It was a real encouraging run for me anyway, because I topped the healing meters on every fight except Saurfang (even beating out the two pallies). So at least I felt good about the effort.
I have a question about loot rules. I know different groups will do it differently, but this group I ran with on Friday allowed one main-spec roll per wing of the raid, with Primordial Saronite counting as a main-spec roll. At the beginning I suggested rolling for all the Primordial Saronite at the end of each wing for people who didn’t get loot, but that suggestion was ignored. I think that makes more sense though; that way everyone has a chance to roll on something if nothing drops for them gear-wise. The way we did it, only 1-2 people rolled on the Saronite for the first bosses because no one wanted to waste their roll in case good gear dropped later; so you had people getting Saronite who missed out on good gear later and people who never had anything good drop missing out on the Saronite rolls.
Sick to death of intellect Plate. I think I have only managed to upgrade my shield and weapon since hitting Northrend. No I tell a lie, I just upgraded my feet after a Wintergarde quest. Have gotten bugger all of use from instance drops.
I just have the best of whatvever i have picked up from questing or dropped in dungeons. My Gs is 1400 some. On the plus side I haven’t spent much whilst levelling and have almost 4k saved.
The BS sets should be pretty cheap on the AH, after using the cobalt set I upgraded to the Tempered Saronite set from level 74 which is good enough for the first couple of heroics just about.
The level 0s (Proditio) and 1s (Skammer and Flightless Bird) should be able to promote you to about level 3 where you can draw up to 5g daily and up to 10 items per tab daily. Just make sure you’re not on a shared computer or if you share your account info with anyone. We’ve been getting hit on 2 or 3 occasions the last couple of months. Not totally detrimental, but annoying.
