Brace yourselves: here comes a run-down of all the addons I have installed across all of my toons. I’ve split them into groups of ~5 to avoid wall of text badness.
**Acheron: **Death reports for you and anyone you’re grouped or in a raid with who’s in combat log range. Very useful for figuring out what killed somebody.
**Ackis Recipe List: **Compares recipes you know in your tradeskills to what’s available. Lists where missing recipes can be found. Can be filtered.
**Addon Control Panel: **Allows you to enable or disable addons without relogging. Most require a UI reload.
**Advanced Trade Skill Window: **Modifies the standard trade windows to allow sorting by difficulty, into custom categories, etc. Allows queuing. Can be kind of a screen real estate hog, so I’ll usually only turn this on when I’m leveling a prof.
**Atlas: **Maps for all dungeons and raids, as well as things like flight points.
Atlasloot Enchanced: Boss loot tables, craftables, tier and other badge gear, etc. Can cross-link with Atlas (e.g., click next to a boss’s name on a map to see what it drops).
**Auctioneer: **Auction tracking and posting tools. Also comes with other addons like Enchantrix, which adds tooltips to tell you what items DE into (and what those DE mats are worth), and **Informant **(which adds tooltips with things like vendor prices–invaluable before that was part of the standard UI).
ClassTimer: Customizable bars with timers for buffs and debuffs. Can show bars for self, target, focus, pet, etc.
**Collect Me: **Database of pets and mounts that tells you what you’re missing and where you can get it.
Decursive: Adds a UI element for dispellable things like poisons, curses, etc. Very important for any class that has any kind of dispel-like ability.
Deus Vox Encounters: Raid bossmod. One of the big three along with Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) and Bigwigs Bossmods; IMO, the best. However, completely pointless unless you’re raiding.
EPGPLootmaster: Was used for loot distribution (via loot council, not EPGP DKP) in an old guild. Gives roll dialogues for items with main spec/offspec options, space for comments, etc.
FishingAce: When you equip a fishing pole, it cranks up your SFX and turns everything else down, and also allows you to cast with a double-click.
Gatherer: Node tracking database for gathering professions. Also includes non-profession “nodes” like chests. Has a tracking HUD option.
GearScore: Quick numerical comparison of relative gear levels. Only rates the relative value of the gear in a completely objective way: for instance, a Prot Warrior wearing 264 healing Cloth would rank “higher” than a Priest wearing 245 healing Cloth. Really only relevant at max level.
GoGoMount: Used to manage mounts. Haven’t played around with it yet.
Grid: Replacement for or supplement to normal group or raid frames. Obscenely customizable. (For example, on my Disc Priest, I have a person’s box turn red if they have aggro, have a yellow border if they have a bubble, have an orange bubble if they have no bubble but Weakened Soul, have a green square in the upper left if they have a HOT on them, etc.)
**GridManaBars: **Modification for Grid to display resource bars.
**GridStatusRaidDebuff: **Modification for Grid to display raid debuffs.
**HatTrick: **Adds checkboxes for cloak and helm to the character interface, allowing them to be easily turned on and off.
**IceHUD: **HUD for character (and pet/vehicle) and target health, resources, and cast bars. Can also display buffs/debuffs, class-specific things like Sunder Armor stacks, etc.
**IronChef: **Equips Chef’s Hat and changes title to Chef when the Cooking window is opened; replaces previous helm and title when it’s closed.
**MapCoords: **Coordinates under player portrait and/or party portraits, as well as the zone maps.
**MikScrollingBattleText: **Scrolling combat text that shows incoming/outgoing damage and heals, procs, cooldowns, etc.
**Omen Threat Meter: **Displays the threat table of the current target.
**OmniCC: **Puts timers on buttons showing cooldown remaining.
**oRA2: **Raid crap like tank frames. Don’t use this in my current guild, but some require it.
**Outfitter: **Gear management addon. Slightly less necessary now that Blizz produced their own outfit section to the UI, but I still like the functionality here, including the separate outfit bar (doesn’t take up a slot on one of my existing action bars).
**Overachiever: **Expands on Achievement UI functionality, including searches, a “watch” window, and tooltips (e.g., on critters to tell you which you need to /love or kill).
Postal: Mail management addon. Can automatically open AH mails, mail with attachments, etc. with a single button click, based on your settings.
Quartz: Cast bars and buffs. I use this to replace the cast bars on my Priest.
QuestHelper: Quest tracking tool. Marks quest locations on your map, suggests the most efficient routes, and adds tooltips to tell you what you need to kill.
**RatingBuster: **Gear comparison tool. Breaks down stats versus what you’re currently wearing with customizable granularity (e.g., I can have Strength displayed as both Attack Power and Block Value).
**Recount: **Damage/healing/etc. meters.
**SatrinaBuffFrame: **Customizable buffs and debuffs. Especially useful for raiders like me who want to get their debuffs more in front of their faces (and turn off the display of things like Chill of the Throne, which is always active).
**SilverDragon: **Rarespawn tracker. Alerts you when a rare is or may be in the area.
**teksLoot: **Replacement for the standard roll dialogue. Can be moved anywhere on your screen, shows information about the item in an intuitive way, and shows a count for how many people have selected which option.
**Tidy Plates: **Nameplate modifier.
Tidy Plates: Threat Plates: Modification for TP. Allows you to change how enemy nameplates are displayed based on your threat level.
