Hi. Haven’t read the whole thread and hope you will forgive me. I’m in NYC and my friend Amy is down there near, or in, the Towers and my mom’s best friend’s daughter too. I can’t dial out of my office and I can’t reach Amy (cell network seems overloaded).

One friend with whom I have contact on AIM is telling me she’s heard that “they” are telling people to move as far north in Manhattan as possible but everything is shut down. I’m so scared. My ex-boyfriend doesn’t seem to be at work yet and I hope he’s ok, isn’t that a lame thing to think right now?

I would like all of us to observe a moment of silence at 10:00 in memory of the people who died at the World Trade Center moments ago.

The media has made all of us so callous to events as tragic as these that we find ourselves laughing at the surrounding circumstances instead of crying.

These are our brothers and sisters who were just murdered. They need our respect, our thoughts and prayers, not our laughter.

No emails will be written, no phones will answered and no voices will be heard here from 10:00 AM to 10:05 AM.

Maybe God bless and comfort those who lost loved ones in this event and may he allow justice to be served to those responsible.

im watching cnn…here in india…two planes into the wtc…one copter or plane into the pentagon…pentagon evacuated…seems to have hit the army quarters at the pentagon…another blast at some mall…and just a minute ago a cascading set of explosions set off in one of the world trade centre bldgs. possibly because of the fire already burning in it set off some explosions…

One of the Twin Towers just had its structural integrity comprimised and a large portion of the building has just collapsed onto the ground… theres a large cloud of smoke encovering most of manhattan…
