World's most amazing dog

OK, he hasn’t won the title yet, but who cares! This is just one of those stories I just had to share because … well, because! Just look at him! I really, really want a dog just like him!

Among other things, Rev the Border Collie can play Connect Four, though no word on how often he wins:

Nope. That would be impressive if it was my dog, but Border Collies are quite smart. This one isn’t in the contest, but he’s insanely smart. The Dog Who Knows 1,000 Words | CUTE ANIMALS (Episode 5) - YouTube

As for the contest, my favorite finalist is Jesse! The front somersaults had me!

Thanks for the videos! OK, I want to have Chaser, too! Though there is something so lovingly beautiful about Rev’s brown and white fur. (Jesse is very smart but just too small for my taste – I hate yappy little dogs.)

Unless you want to spend your waking hours doing nothing but exercising your Border Collie’s body and brain, and enjoy having your tiniest movement or even thought monitored with intense focus by a being who has nothing to do with all their enormous talent and energy but watch you without let up, get a Labrador.

You don’t eat a dog like that all at once!

Rev is cute as heck and obviously smart. I couldn’t deal with that much brain power in my personal dog. I had a very smart Rat Terrier, she wore me out. You have to keep them occupied or bad things happen. I like my 2 dummies for the love and laziness. It’s just so easy.

Yeah, well this dog (and a small handful of others), can drive a car.

(Not clickbait, these dogs have actually been trained to drive a car. Start the engine, shift into drive, negotiate turns etc).

WTH? That is as crazy as…as…I just don’t know.

Sorry, it’s not a Dachshund. I don’t give a fuck.

But, a weenie dog can’t drive. Their legs are too short.

That’s why I have four. One on the brake/gas, one each for left/right and Dixie keeps the good music going on the stereo.

Jesus Christ, you’re killing me! That put a hilarious scene in my head.
Funny stuff. I’m cheered up now.

Watch those flickr vids. Comedy gold.

I was thinking this too. Border collies seem too damn intense.

There are people who enjoy spending a ton of time with a smart dog exploiting and satisfying its need to accomplish tasks. And then there are those of us who want a dog that is well-trained but also content being a couch potato at times.

This article talks about a border collie that learned over a thousand nouns.
