World's youngest kidnapping victim

Apparently you’re not safe anywhere

I’m hoping this story is fake.

She-it.

The creepy thing is…didn’t this happen back in the 80s, in the U.S.? I seem to recall that the kidnapper (a midwife. A crazy one, I’m pretty sure) actually murdered the mother, though.

Woah, that’s just scary.

How the hell does someone get this idea in the first place?

That’s happened before. I believe the perps are usually distraught (to say the least) women who can’t have children, and are desperate for a baby.

Not that that in ANY way excuses such horrible behavior…

Yes, something like this happened in the Chicago area - pregnant woman abducted, baby cut out of her womb - a number of years back, but in that case the mother died. Quite controversial (aside from the murder angle, which was bad enough), since there was a strong racial bias involved. The mother and her caucasian child were killed, the mother’s two bi-racial children were taken by the kidnappers, who were of largely African descent. I don’t remember more particulars than that at the moment

bloody hell.

How sad. :frowning:

I am absolutely appalled by this!

I have to go upstairs now to check on my kids.

Just like I always say…some people just need to be taken out and shot.

I remember this case, and my recollection isn’t MUCH better than yours, but I believe the alleged murderer/kidnapper was the wife or girlfriend of the father of the two biracial children. IIRC, the father was implicated as well.

I wish this were “unprecedented.” I have a very clear recollection of a case here in Albuquerque back in the 1988 or 89, where a mentally unbalanced woman who had been faking a pregnancy kidnapped a near-term pregnant woman from the parking lot of a health clinic, drove her to a remote area, and performed a crude caesarian using her car keys. The mother died, and the woman was turned in by either a family member or a neighbor (it may have even been her husband - I don’t recall) a few days later. The murdered woman’s husband was in the Air Force, I believe, and they had older children. They moved somewhere north, perhaps Oregon. I can’t find a news story about it at this late remove, but it happened around the time I was pregnant with my first child, and the incident is burned into my memory.
