So… Can somebody tell me why, exactly, they’re only predicting a bacon shortage and not a full-on pork shortage, when the reason they give is that pig farmers are culling their herds?

I was wondering the same thing. Not only that but if, as the article says, it’s because of a feed shortage, then won’t it mean a meat shortage in general? Maybe even a food shortage?
