Worst episode of Seinfeld is...

The NY Daily News came up with a list of the best and worst Seinfeld episodes and they mention both “The Dog” and “The Baby Shower” in their bottom 5:

  1. The Busboy (Episode 17, Season 2)

  2. The Dog (Episode 21, Season 3)

  3. The Baby Shower (Episode 15, Season 2)

  4. The Big Salad (Episode 88, Season 6)

  5. The Trip (Episodes 41 and 42, Season 4)

I actually kind of liked “The Trip” (where Kramer goes to L.A.).

I have NO doubt that Del Boca Vista is decorated in 80’s Attempted Nautical with shells and gulls, in a Coral ‘n’ Seafoam color scheme. Heck, we stayed in a condo on the Gulf Coast that looked even more cliché than that. In 2018. The “bathroom wallpaper in the living quarters” was everywhere. ::shudder::

After a week of that “decor”, I’d developed a Jack Klompus accent, and couldn’t stop saying things like “Whaddya think? That I’ve never used an astronaut pen, or ridden in a Cadillac before? Believe me, I’ve pulled up to many an Early Bird Special in a Cadillac.”

(Is there anything more subjective than comedy? After reading this thread, I think not)

Scratching my head over “The Trip” being the worst episode. More like the best episode.

We can be weird together, then.

To this day, whenever someone says ‘Stella’, I find myself saying in return, “STELLLLAAAAAA . . .”. I’ve embarrassed myself more than once.

Me too; all the time. Don’t get me started on the mention of ponies, pirates, muffins and a myriad of other things.

I get “The Trip” being number 1. It’s a pretty divisive episode. I’m scratching my head over “The Big Salad” being number 2. I don’t remember anything particularly good or bad about that one.

I consider The Trip to be great just for Kramer’s line “Hey, how did you know about the guy in the park?”.

My nominee for worst episode is the one with Michael Chiklis as Jerry’s “friend”. I think it was the first season, which has very few highlights.

ETA: Nope, it was Season 3, The Stranded.

Festivus as well.

The first time I watched that episode, I actually looked up the transcript on line to make sure I’d heard him correctly.

I seldom laugh out loud at TV sitcoms, but that line had me roaring! :stuck_out_tongue:

Also the fact that Wayne Knight was in “JFK”, and in that very scene.

“Back … and to the left!”

I had pony. My sister had pony. My cousin had pony.

STELLAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

The voice irritated his girlfriend so much because he was mocking her navel when she was asleep. He had to choose between her and the voice, and he chose the voice.

It sure seemed to me that it was about nothing… :dubious:

Funny as hell, but never really *about *anything!

“The pig says ‘My wife is a slut’?!?” :dubious:

I was looking at a bunch of New Yorker cartoons the other day. Didn’t laugh at any of them. :frowning:

There’s one in every crowd.

OK I’ll give you one of my all time favorites; A little girl and little Boy are playing. She says: “Ok We can play Doctor. You be the Doctor and I’ll be the Secretary of Health and Human Services.”

The caption contest in the back is often hilarious too.

Did that experience make you a fan of the final season?

I could tell they were running out of steam in the final season, but that line about the pig never fails to make me laugh! :stuck_out_tongue:

Your joke is pretty good, but can you explain the one about the interoffice e-mails for me?

I went through the same thought process (“This episode is a clunker from the first season – nope, it’s from season 3”) when I considered the episode “The Fix-Up” (where Elaine and Jerry set up George on a blind date with Janice from “Friends”).

And the funniest part was after Jerry chose the voice, his friends were tired of the voice. So he lost the girl and the gag.

YouTube video of Jerry breaking up with her by using the voice, then his friends being tired of it: https://youtu.be/bjmgzLVuWLU?t=134
