He never did anything hardcore though.
True, but even without the hardcore shots, Caligula is one trashy movie, and McDowell is neck-deep in the sleaze.
I watched it. Hated, hated, hated every minute of it. Then again, I’ve got friends whose opinions I respect who think it’s a masterpiece, so I guess it depends on what you like. And I actually quite liked Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets, so maybe don’t pay too much attention to my opinions
My vote is for Dirty Grandpa, btw. Absolute toilet of a movie.
Me, too. Was it everything I wanted from a Valerian movie, as a fan of the comic? No. Was it an enjoyable movie for me? Yes.
Absolutely, it is an April Fools joke and a very good one.
It made me think of the first time I watched Forgotten Silver. So well done you keep forgetting that it is not serious.
You misunderstand. Those great actors worked on a serious film titled Caligula. Then, after they went home and cashed their checks, Bob Guccione, publisher of Penthouse, shot a bunch of hardcore porn scenes and inserted them (!) willy-nilly (!!) into the finished film. So literally none of the name stars knew what they were getting into.
So the scene where Hellen Mirren was applying semen on her face was quality cinema, but the clip of the slaves ejaculating into the pan was snuck in?
Yeah, StarDog and TurboCat (2019) was IMO way worse than Boss Baby 2.
But by far the worst movie I ever saw was Fred: The Movie (2010). 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Zero!

I guess the scene of McDowell fisting the soldier was CGI, then.
One more tiny sidebar: The Talbot brothers had an earlier band, Mason Proffit, that was actually pretty damn good, before they went off and made Christian stuff.
