Worst Post-2006 Manning-led Colts postseason loss?

Which post-2006 Super Bowl victory Colts postseason loss was the worst?
Loss to San Diego 24-28 (2007)
Loss to San Diego 17-23 (2008)
Loss to New Orleans in Super Bowl 17-31 (2009) (Saints Super Bowl victory seen with asterisk)
Loss to New York Jets 16-17 (2010)

Hard to see how it could be any answer other than the Super Bowl loss to the Saints. Not only was it the closest that the Colts were on the doorstep of a championship of any of the losses you listed, but they had a perfectly legit chance to win that game.

They blew a 10-point lead, and back then that was the biggest lead anyone had ever overcome to date in a Super Bowl. If they were just more alert on that surprise Saints onside kick, or if Stover doesn’t miss that field goal, or if Peyton didn’t throw that pick-six, they could have been in good position.

Why is there an asterisk on the Saints win? Asking as a Colts fan.

Could you please give us your opinion as well when you dump these questions?

For the asterisk, I’m guessing that the Saints win is considered to be tainted by some because of the bounty scandal, where coaches were giving bonuses to players for excessively hard hits that resulted in injuries to the other team’s players.
