Worst/uglist CURRENT superhero costumes?

Isn’t the standard line that some sort of actor’s glue holds them on?

The Comedian got glassed in Vietnam, and after that he switched to a leather gimp mask.

And I laughed so hard I nearly choked! I’m at the reception desk so I need to answer phones coherently and it ain’t happening thanks to you, Max Torque!

I’m talking about the TV show costumes. Huntress wore a black outfit and a big, floppy black cape while on the prowl – she was basically just a face floating above a pool of black – her figure got completely lost in the shadows, as the scenes were often shot in a noir, underlit way. Here’s a pic from the Dark Horizons site for BoP. You may think these women are hotties, but they’re just not. Huntress was the hottest of the bunch, for sure, but the general impression of the three of them was frumpiness.

Frumpiness?

Frumpiness?

I can’t imagine what your dungeon consists of if this is your idea of frumpiness.

Yeah, frumpiness. I watched the first few eps of the series. They had the actress who played Huntress writhing in what looked like a black negligee in many of the show’s bumpers. Nothing like that in the show itself, mind you. That black cape that billows so dramatically behind her covered her figure most of the time. And the shot of Dina Meyers in the Batgirl outfit? Remember, she was the Oracle, the wheelchair bound oracle, who spent most of her time in a wheelchair, in an outfit a lot more like the one in my promo shot than in yours. I think there were a couple of flashback shots of her in her Batgirl outfit, that was about it. And the Black Canary’s daughter. Frumpy, frumpy, frumpy.

Yeah, frumpy. There’s even a complaint about it on Jump the Shark’s page for it. To wit:

See, the thing is, all the comics fans in the world couldn’t generate enough numbers to make the show worthwhile for the WB. The show promoted itself to mainstream viewers as a show featuring hot, sexy babe crimefighters, and they they didn’t deliver the hot and sexy. Of course the show flopped. What were they thinking?
