Would be Windows ME computer be compatible with an iPod?

Hello all,

I really want an iPod (especially that neat 40 GB version), but I’m running a four-year-old Dell with Windows ME. I’d hate to buy an iPod and not have it work with my computer. Any advice (other than “Ditch Windows ME”)?

Sorry, I meant for the subject line to say "Would my Windows ME computer be compatible with an iPod?"

The apple website says windows 2000 or XP. It does not mention ME so you may be out of luck.
