OK, I’ll explain why this thread was moved to the pit, if you don’t understand why.
See, the pit is the forum for all whining, complaining, insulting, bitching, pissing, moaning, and suchlike. Any questions about moderator actions are moved here, because questions about moderator actions are very likely to morph into complaining about moderator actions. And 90% of the time this is the case. So rather than having all questions start in ATMB, and when they morph into complaints move them to the Pit, the policy is that all questions and complaints, no matter how polite, should be made in the Pit.
Plenty of polite questions have been asked and answered here in the Pit, plenty of civil debates have gone on here in the Pit. This is not just the forum for throwing sticks in people’s hair and laughing about it, you can make any sort of post you want. You don’t have to mock or deride people or curse, or whatever. It’s just that if you want to complain about a particular person, you have to do it here.
Now do you understand?

Usually they don’t need to be locked because they just die on their own. Sometimes zombie threads get locked on grounds of “unlawful resurrection”.

Thanks. My favorites too. It’s disappointing to see how directness and being blunt, is so often seen as being rude. I suppose I wasn’t very tactful but I think adults ought to be able to take being told off and a little venting without crumbling.
How come with our friends we can say “look you stupid so and so” knowing everything will still be fine later, but with more casual acquaintances a simple honest expression like that seems so awful?

Well, I don’t see any more mod/admin posts here since I last posted. (I didn’t bother to read the others, as sump posters don’t interest me - You shouldn’t get mad at me if that offends you. Nobody else cares about you or your posts either. Same as the real world.)
I suppose that means the admins now agree with me.
So I will just assume that Czarcasm locked my first thread because someone told him it was a repeat, and failing to read it himself, or understand how it was different from Libertarians, closed it.
Then Frank completely missed the joke on the second thread, not understanding (unlike almost all the responders) that the key joke was that people like him, who refused to read the whole intro, would answer the samples. rather than respond correctly by supplying new questions.
This is why Frank never made the cut at the Jeopardy auditions he goes to every year.
The reason that they can’t supply a reason for the locks is that the don’t like to admit they don’t read threads before locking them or admit same when called on it.
Thus, there is in fact no rule, written or unwritten that the threads broke.
And the reason for sending my question about it down here was to invite people to insult me. Which makes Frank puerile in the extreme. Fearing looking stupid for insulting me for no reason he invites others to do it. Somehow, Frank, that doesn’t make you look any less stupid.
So let’s see. I started two poll threads, which like the other threads I’ve started (which I can safely assume no one down in the sewer here has read), were done to simply start conversations with strangers about topics that should be of mutual interest. And some people were having fun responding when permitted. That seems to be an objection as well.
And finally, there is no reason to pay $14 something. This site is more than a little fraudulent. Cecil not only doesn’t answer your questions, but he clearly hates coming here at all. And with the way it’s run that should hardly surprise anyone.
So you’ll excuse me if I don’t bother to use up the “30 day free trial”. A couple of days is more than enough as it turns out.
