You know what statement eyeliner makes on a guy? “Hello, I’m Captain Jack Sparrow.” And it will for years and year to come.
When I first saw him my impression was that it was put on as a fire retardant.
Doesn’t everybody on TV have to wear makeup? I recall being on a TV game show-the announcers looked like they had plenty of makeup on-those bright lights wash out everything.
Yes, pretty much. Even if you are just being interviewed they will give you a bit of powder and such. Among other things, the lights make your face glisten, so if you don’t get powdered you’ll look like you’re sweating bullets all the time.
I could have sworn that was a gathering of Dragon Ball cosplayers. Just look at the hair.
“What’s the hair product level on this group?”
“IT’S OVER 9000!!!”
I think a little eyeliner on a guy is OK for going out, once in a while. Depends on the guy, though. Makeup looks a lot better on a young guy with fine features than on your stocky, middle-aged uncle, for example. Of course, there are times when it’s necessary for public appearances. My dad once appeared on a local public-access talk show representing some group of businessmen he works with, and he only grudgingly allowed the makeup artist to apply the most minimal amount of concealer on him. On the other extreme is my ex. He used to wear full eye makeup and even some blush and lip gloss all the time. He’s toned it down some, but it’s not rare to see him with at least some amount of eyeliner on.
