Would you consider beer junk food?

I sure as hell can’t think of any.

I don’t see how it can be considered anything but junk food. I’d define “junk food” as food with little to no nutritional value. I’d say beer fits that bill quite perfectly.

With only heaving read the caption line, I say NO, in fact it’s the food of the gods. It’s liquid bread, but better.

Then you would say very, very wrong.

I would say wrong. Hmm. Speaking of alcohol…

Well, even if you think beer is junk, there’s a reason why they say “food and beverage.” Beer ain’t no food.

Don’t tell that to a Bavarian ;).

I’ve heard beer described as “lunch in a can”. I pointed out that if beer was your only lunch you’d die of scurvy. So I say junk food.

I like beer as much as the next woman. Well, more probably. :o

But, yeah, 5 beers in 2 hours for a small woman is a bunch. A too drunk to drive, probably has very few redeeming ingredients (unless she really like craft beers) bunch.

If she nags, I’d say it’s fair game to push back. Your dietary weaknesses aren’t going to hurt anyone but yourself. And you haven’t been unkind enough up to now to make a deal-io out of her habits.

I shall now go enjoy a gin & tonic in my own home. Haters can hate. :stuck_out_tongue:

But not beriberi or pellagra. And not scurvy if you have a wheat beer with a slice of orange, or a shandy with a wedge of lemon.

How about a faux innocent “Did you know that one 12 oz beer has more calories than a 12 oz can of coke?”

Way to find the silver lining!

Not meaning to be critical, but you missed some stuff.

I blame the beer.
