As long as I’m getting paid, sure, whatever you’d like. I did get (I believe) about $100 for the experience once, photography.
I’d pose for photos if no one could see my face, since I don’t know who’d be looking at it.
With a painting or drawing, have at it. I like my body, and I think it’d be fun to see what an artist could do with it.
I did nude modeling for cash back when I was younger for art classes at Monroe Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester NY. I also worked privately as a model as well. And no I did not put out as well! No photographic work, mainly oils, acrylics, and mixed media. And one piece ultimately cast in bronze that I did the body casting for.
Celle qui fut la belle heaulmière
One of my favorite pieces.
Well, the assignment was worded in such a way (“you must photograph yourself without clothes on,” IIRC) that you could get away with just photographing your hand if you were uncomfortable. But most of us were young and hot, so…
If certain areas could be elaborated then I probably would
I did when I was between 18 & 25 - I had many friends who were art students.
I was a life model for art classes during and after university. I have (or used to have) the sort of body that looks OK unclothed, so I had no inhibitions whatsoever.
I’d done some clothed modelling for a different class before the nude sessions so I knew that the main preoccupation is with keeping still and taking your mind of the discomfort associated with holding a long pose rather than dwelling on “Eek! All those strangers are seeing me naked!”
It did set me up for the inevitable “I almost didn’t recognise you with your clothes on” line when I met one of the students at a later date, in a different setting.
I have done it for drawings, and I would not have a problem with people knowing it was me. However, I would be VERY discriminating when it comes to photos. It would have to truly be art, and for a artist whose work I liked and who was respected. I don’t want any surprise porn or skeeviness. But I have seen beautiful art photos of nudity and I would not mind being part of that.
I’ve never posed nude (no one ever asked me) but I used to pose a couple of times a week for an art class. Basically I sat in a chair on top of a table, reading a book and turning this way and that on request. I thought it was because I was absolutely killer handsome but the girls in the class said I was a popular model because my face was “interesting.” I doubt if any of those pictures survived.
I draw nudes every week I can – if I had the body for it, I would pose for strangers. I wouldn’t pose for friends, nor do I want to draw friends. Tried it once in college and it was a disaster for everyone involved.
I guess none of the above for me. I personally wouldn’t have a problem with any of it, but my husband wouldn’t be comfortable with me doing it, so I wouldn’t out of respect for his feelings.
