I bought a car today, and twenty minutes after the deal was made my brother asked if he could borrow it. I asked a few more questions, then agreed.
I drove across the city to get him, came back to pick up his friend and then let him take it back to his place to watch a movie. Why he couldn’t just watch it here, I have NO idea, but oh well. I just have to wait up for another hour or so for him to come back so I can drive him home.
I am glad to hear you are good to your jerk/brother. However I would take steps to insure this does not become a common practice, after all it is your car, plus if he wrecks it who gets screwed ? I love my sisters, all three of them, but as far as letting them borrow my brand new car - lets just say that happening would be rare and only in certain cases. Its OK to put your foot down about this - after all, as I am fond of saying to my sis’s : no matter how mad they get, no one can break-up with real family.
You’re way off base Omni. Just give her a history test and stand back!
Anyhoo, mega, I don’t know why we let some people take advantage of us. I suspect it’s because we’ve been trained. It’s easier to give in than to fight it out with them.
But now that you’ve recognized how foolish it was to do this for him, take the next step. Tell him you lost the keys!!
