On my iPhone SE, it looks weird. The sentences cut off mid word at the end of a line.
So, for example, I have a thread open where the lines are “and wouldn’t save new photos. Since my phone’s memory is almost full, I had space for perhaps a couple dozen pictures on it. So I had to pause and think about …”
but it formats like this:
Ellipses added.
That can’t be possibly how it’s supposed to look, can it? Is there some sort of option I’m supposed to check or uncheck in some settings or preferences menu?
The main font is way too big, but zooming out ruins other formatting. If possible please just reduce the main font size, you can leave everything else be.
Are we gonna get in trouble when we quoth other posters? … we’re not supposed to modify their post at all and that has always included changing the entire quothated text to italics … or should I expect a warning every time I try? …
I just also noticed that hyperlinks in posts are subtly darker, not obviously darker. Definitely harder to see.
Well, I can’t see the buttons to change text size or add hyperlinks anyway. All I can do is type. Do anyone else have missing formatting buttons above the post composer? I don’t even see smilies. <there is a manual smilie here in my post.
Did I just screw up something on my end? I don’t have any features - no first post button, nothing.
FWIW, I like it. I’m sure there are glitches to be worked out, but the larger font is more comfortable for me, and the little touches of color are helpful. Maybe I don’t sit as close to my monitor as some.
Suggestion: Make “Submit Reply” and “Preview Post” different shades.
The mobile site seems much friendlier to my phone (which is old – Samsung S5; dunno what it looks like on something newer).
We installed a mobile-friendly “theme.” The ads are causing problems; I’m trying to get that straightened out. In the meantime, I notice that formatting problems are less noticeable when pages are viewed in landscape orientation. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I also noticed that this problem is only occurring on my iPhone, not the iPad. I’m a member so I don’t have ads. I’ll check the phone and see if the problem persists in landscape orientation. If it does, I’ll report back.
